I still am not over this RENT playbill. I’ve been a musical theater nut since my parents took me to New York in 2006 and we saw Lion King and Movin Out when I was in middle school. I’ve kept my playbills for as long as I can remember. I have multiple gallon bags full of them! These playbills are from the 00s tour with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal🙈I need a thousand more playbill canvases. And also a donor to fund all of them 😂

Do you collect anything besides needlepoint canvases?

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical “The Phantom of the Opera,” which made its world premiere on this date in 1986.

I spoke with lead actress Julia Udine backstage at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in 2016 between her two stints playing Christine Daaé on Broadway, first from 2014-2016, then again from 2021-2023.

Stick around until the end for a bonus laugh with Gerard Butler, who played The Phantom in the 2004 film adaptation. He joined me to discuss his submarine flick “Hunter Killer” in 2018 and humored me with an improv showtune.
