What happens when research becomes the foundation for great design?

Join The Cultural Landscape Foundation and Longwood Gardens for RE:SEARCH, Oberlander Prize Forum V, exploring how landscape architects are reclaiming and redefining the relationship between research and design.

@gametimeplay @impactparks and @playcorenews teamed up with @utccampusrec to build a new outdoor fitness and social space for students on campus. The Flight Deck is a complete outdoor fitness studio with seating and dining area plus a hammock space under the trees. It’s such a beautiful spot for students to exercise, meet up, and recharge during their day. If you’re on campus, it’s near Lockmiller Apartments on Oak Street.

Join TCLF and Longwood Gardens on October 29 for RE: SEARCH, a symposium exploring how research and design intersect to shape the future of landscape architecture.

The program features Plenary Provocations from two distinguished voices:

🌿 Walter J. Hood, Hood Design Studio, will explore how communities reinterpret and reclaim landscapes whose official meanings obscure their presence, revealing the complex social meanings embedded in these places.

🌿 Anne Whiston Spirn, FASLA, FCELA, MIT, will examine visual thinking and the role of seeing and envisioning in the development of ideas.

The program begins October 28 with a reception and keynote by Oberlander Prize laureate Mario Schjetnan, followed by mobile workshops on October 30 offering opportunities to explore these themes in significant landscapes.

The Power of Play was on full display at NRPA!

From celebrating how Play Is in Our Nature to sharing the new VistaHalo, we loved connecting with so many people who are helping create places where communities can move, play, gather, and grow. And we loved seeing so many of our @playcorenews friends this week!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent time with us in Philadelphia. We’re heading home inspired by the conversations, the connections and what’s ahead.

Until next year, NRPA! 💚
