Each of us has our own way to give back to the world. It's a natural process, this circulating of energy, resources, ideas.

We need each other, truly. There's no other way to navigate this life.

For all of you who've chosen Theaterlab as the recipient of your generosity: THANK YOU!!

It's hard to believe we made it to 20 years. But we did! YES! Look at us! Look at what your continued support has produced.

As we bring 2025 to a close, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of sooo many who have been impacted by Theaterlab over the years.

With the hours counting down, I am positive we'll end the year with much gratitude, joy, and abundance.

And in honor of all we've done this year - and all the years before - WE RAISE A GLASS TO YOU.
(20 glasses to be precise, if you can find them alll).

So,
To all the artists who've worked with us, rented our spaces, shared ideas, and stories.
To every single audience member who kept us bustling with curiosity and conversation.
To the volunteers, interns, and board members who kept everything in motion.
To the long-distance champions of the work we do - who've continued to love us from afar.
To those we've yet to meet, but hope to soon.

Without you - none of this would be possibly.

Cheers to you.
Cheers to all you've done.
Cheers to 20 more.

--------

2026 has much in store, so we hope to see you around, and wish you the best in the days ahead.

Happy New Year!

With care and gratitude,
💛 All of us at Theaterlab

~~~~~~
(There are way more productions & events that happened this year that we don't have photos from - we still love you!!).
A decade of centering ourselves at the intersection of art and spirituality- cultivating provocative conversations and celebrating artists with visions that uplift and uncover the human condition. These are just a few of the brilliant storytellers who have joined us on the journey this past year- meet us on the corner of Bleecker and Elizabeth Street and join us on the road ahead.
In all the excitement yesterday I didn’t mention that:
I’m directing this beautiful and rarely performed play - It was Williams’s favourite - Joseph Rodriguez and Irene Glazos, the actors in this are sensational - it’s a co-pro with my London company Well Played - we are performing in NYC at TheatreLab and then at Provincetown Festival - it’s the last year of the festival - so many reasons to come see - let me know if you’re coming - did I mention I’m directing it this? X
Word is out – @markpovinelli as Benjamin Lay “plays the radical activist with verve and vigor!” And we’ve only got a few tickets left — most remaining shows have already sold out! Don’t sleep on this one, folks.
Rosa Cartagena of @phillyinquirer also calls The Return of Benjamin Lay “a rousing effort to get modern audiences to see the British abolitionist Quaker as a prescient leader, in the vein of Hamilton,” and deems this production “strikingly powerful.”
