Our homeschooling just got some new goodies! 📚🤍

@playosmo sent us some new learning games to try, and I’m so excited to see how we can work these into our school days!

One of my favorite things is finding ways to make learning fun while still keeping our days manageable with two kids.

Stay tuned because we’ll be putting these to the test soon!

Friday was for MAKING! 💡🛠️

We read Be A Maker by Katey Howes and talked about what it really means to be a maker. Makers are a lot like engineers—they create with a purpose, solve problems, try new things, and aren’t afraid to figure it out along the way!

Then our 5th graders set off to BE MAKERS…and they did ALL the things! 🙌

They made buttons, swam with sharks in the VR headsets 🦈, designed with Perler beads, created with 3Doodler pens, built BIG with Rigamajig, and so much more!

But my favorite part? ❤️ Listening to their conversations as they explored—sharing ideas, helping each other, problem-solving, and saying, “Wait…what if we tried THIS?!”

That’s what being a maker is all about. 💡✨

Homeschooling two kids at the same time can often seem impossible when they both want/need me.

@playosmo has been such a game changer for us because one kid can play independently while I help the other—and then we switch.

It’s one of those little things that has made our homeschool days feel SO much more manageable. 🤍

Homeschool moms… what’s the one thing that has made your days easier lately?

We’ve been having so much fun with this Osmo Detective game! 🔎🕵️‍♀️

There are different levels of difficulty, and it’s been a great fit for my 2.5 year old who already loves search-and-find books. She still needs a little assistance right now, but I think by around 3 she’ll be able to play more independently!

I also love that there are different maps and places to explore, so it keeps things interesting. 🌎

We’re excited to try some of Osmo’s other games and make our screen time a little more meaningful! 🤍

One thing to know: Osmo currently only works with older iPad models — it does not work with the newest generation iPads with the horizontal camera.

Comment “DETECTIVE” and I’ll send you the link!

@playosmo is screen time but made educational! There are so many different worlds to explore and learn. One child does their book work while the other gets to “play” and they switch after each book work subject.

School days have never been so smooth!

⚙️ 2nd Grade Engineers in the Makerspace!

After reading Made by Maxine, we talked about how engineers dream it, build it, problem-solve, make mistakes, and keep going! 💡

Then came their favorite part… FREE CHOICE! 🙌 They explored ALL the things and let their creativity take over!

Parents… sorry in advance for the sudden need for a 3D pen. 😂

Watching my little guy learn his letters while playing with the hands-on manipulatives with @playosmo has been so much fun! I love when learning doesn’t feel like “learning” because they’re too busy having fun. The interactive activities keep him engaged, practicing letters and building those early literacy skills without it feeling like work. Such a fun way to make learning part of play! #toddlermom #teachermom #learningisfun #playosmo #collaboration

🚀 Kinders launched into learning today with Osmo!

Our little Osmonauts worked with Mo the Monster to build uppercase and lowercase letters, create pictures to match, and then put their math brains to work exploring numbers! 🔤🔢

Learning through play, building, creating, and problem-solving…that’s what we love to see in the LRC! ✨
