Had a wonderful birthday this week and got to celebrate it with so many wonderful people! Look at how lucky i am! A bunch of friends came out for ice cream, Casey and Natalie even baked cookies which i am still eating! I got a birthday song from Alexis & April & Dante! I got smashed in jiu jitsu by world class 5am maniacs! Earlier this month I got to have ice cream with my mom and dad and sisters and nieces and nephews and college friends and their families! I got FaceTimes from my sisters and their kids (sorry i didn't screen grab our call Taylor, I plugged in a photo of Murph to place hold)! Then i notched another week passing on my calendar that reminds me to stay present, grounded, and focused.

My current favorite motivational quote is: Fix the leak before you fill the bucket- which means that quitting your worst habit(s) will have a bigger effect on your life than finding new positive ones; so before you fill the bucket, fix the leaks.

In January 2021, I walked into CrossFit Chamblee as an athlete for the very first time. I was brand new to Atlanta and simply looking to lose weight. I had no idea that this place would become such a meaningful part of my life or that I would soon become a coach, build lifelong friendships, and have the privilege of impacting so many people along the way.

I’ve cried here. I’ve laughed here. CFC has seen me through so many seasons of life: grad school, job changes, getting engaged, married, buying a home, and all of the moments in between. What started as a gym became something that felt like family.

After a lot of prayer, I’ve decided that this chapter of coaching at CFC is coming to an end. It’s bittersweet because this place holds so many memories, but I truly believe God guides us through different seasons for a reason.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching people from all over the world. I’ve witnessed PRs people worked years to achieve. I’ve watched people recover from injuries and rebuild confidence. I’ve watched people navigate difficult seasons of life. I’ve seen people walk through the doors after a hard day of work and somehow leave with a smile.

Some of my favorite memories have nothing to do with the workouts. Coaching turned into coffee dates, babysitting, dog sitting, baby showers, birthday parties, and celebrating milestones. It meant pushing strollers around the gym and holding kiddos so their parents could get a workout in. It meant knowing people’s families, watching their kids grow, and becoming part of each other’s lives in ways I never could have imagined.

This place changed me, too.

It has continually reminded me of something I believe is deeply connected to my purpose: I’m meant to make an impact on people. Whether that’s in a therapy office, on a gym floor, or somewhere God hasn’t revealed to me yet, I know I’m not finished.

This is not the end of coaching for me and I know coaching will find its way back into my life in some form when the time is right.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me, encouraged me, laughed with me, celebrated with me, and suffered through workouts with me.

Here’s to the next chapter 🥂
