She is social, and she sings 🎤💐

Karaoke Club YVR closed out the Workable Woman Atelier at TELUS Garden the only way we know how: full volume. Bouquets in hand, strangers on backup vocals, and new friends by the last chorus. Faith, finance, fitness, family, and FUN. This room understood the assignment.

We also acknowledge that we gathered on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. We hold space for the Survivors, their families, and the children who never came home 🧡

Thank you to @workablewoman.ca and @yvr.eventsolutions for having us, and to every woman who grabbed the mic, sang along, or danced from the couch. This is what community sounds like 💛

Planning a social, mixer, or team night? We host, we bring the gear, you bring the people. DM @karaokeclubyvr to book your date 📩

This time, I let myself go without overthinking it.

A lovely woman I’d met through @itsdianadinh and Mama Masterminds invited me along. We’d said, “Let’s do something together,” and this became that something. Sometimes it’s as easy as that.

My first networking event since this summer’s shift in me, and I could feel the difference.

I wore Sitare, my own design, with a pink corset underneath. Women asked about it, and I got to share my creativity, my culture and how they could wear it too.

Quynhie @quynhie.nguyen of @workablewoman.ca and Jessica @pleasanthypnosis set the tone. Quynhie reminded us this wasn’t a room to be performative. We could be ourselves.

There was room for what felt difficult too. I felt honoured by women’s trust and grateful we could listen with kindness.

Soon, I was sitting with three women I’d just met, opening up through conversation cards about our emotions and first impressions.

One lovely woman with such warm energy said she’d seen “boss lady energy” when I walked in. Then we talked, and she saw my soft, loving heart.

That meant so much.

When you’ve heard “you’re too much,” “don’t be vulnerable,” “be strong” and “do it yourself” for years, you learn to hold parts of yourself back.

I’m learning to let people in and be supported. These women were so encouraging, their compliments heartfelt. Several loved my energy and wanted to meet again. They could see the change I’d been feeling in myself.

Not every room feels safe, but this one did. I’m grateful these women created the kind of space I talk about through NPFD and want to walk into more often.

We sang karaoke with @karokeclubyvr, made posies with @aprilflowersyvr, tried hypnosis with Jessica and enjoyed beautiful food by the lovely Anna @grysh.and.ko.catering.

Thank you to our hosts, @yvr.eventsolutions, @telusgardenoffice and the woman who invited me. And Amanat thehunnylens and Nisa for capturing moments I’ll share in my Stories.

I left more comfortable being all of me. Curious. Strong. Soft. More of this, please.✨

Thanks @workablewoman.ca for giving us the place to be expressed, in our beauty and connecting with others (and ourselves in the process!). I’m so glad to be among one of founding members of this movement of women who want greatness for themselves and others. Not only in their work, but in their faith, fitness, family, fun and finances!

.until next time

If we let it, our mind loves to think, plan, build, solve, spin, run, to the point of exhaustion.

My mind rarely goes quiet. This is one of the reasons I was drawn to sound healing; a place where my mind rests, and my body releases. And it’s not only been my experience as you can see by the words shared from others. Im so pleased when people who experience my sound healing share their experiences; it truly fuels the “why” of this work, creating space for others to slow down, regulate and release.

If you find your mind in constant active mode, this is your permission slip to take a break.

On Oct 22, I’m going even deeper into that release with Jessica Taylor, hypnotist and Clinic Director at @pleasanthypnosis . She’ll guide you into a relaxed state through hypnosis, then I’ll continue the journey with a live sound bath to help your body finish what your mind started letting go of.

90 minutes. 8 people max. A small, quiet room to actually exhale in.

Nelson Mandela spent 28 years in prison and came out believing in the human dignity of everyone around him, on both sides. Lee Tracie-Stockburger says that is language. That is the power of the words we choose, the story we tell, and the inner world we build.

That is also exactly what NLP teaches us. The language we use shapes the experience we have, and that is a skill you can learn.

Full episode is live now, tune in on your favourite podcast player.

And if you want to learn how to use the power of language to change your own patterns and results, reach out to find out how.

📍 Vancouver Chapter

Five pillars. One room.

Workable Woman isn’t built on one idea. It’s built on five — Faith, Family, Finance, Fitness, Fun.

Each one holds its own weight. Together, they hold you.

This is the standard the room is formed around. Not balance as a buzzword — structure you can actually stand on.

The Formation Path is a 4-month commitment. Observer, Host, Speaker Prep, Vendor Table — each stage moves you closer to the room.

Membership is your seat in the room. $48 USD/month · Reserve your place. Link in Bio.
