Im sick and just moved in but I wanna talk about this
Full vendor list (that we know of) is on my profile under “support local artists” unfortunately, we don’t have a full vendor list :(
I highly recommend you check out @tucson.spotlight article on this written by the @mckenna.reports

Okay lemme talk for a min
It saddens me as someone who has worked in established organizations regarding events that people a.) Were careless about the wind and b.) Did not promote this event to the highest degree.
I represented athletes, who have spent hours away from academics and their families - to play during thanksgiving breaks, Christmases and new years. Artists, on their own accord, work through a similar schedule - fighting for their talents to be seen.
In athletics, we did whatever we could to get these sports seen and loved, but also safe and protected. I keep that same intention with these artists as well.
I remember waking up at 5 am to send out an email that a game was cancelled due to weather conditions or a power outage. Yes the traveling team spent HOURS on plane or bus to get there. Yes the audience planned their day around this. But the fact of the matter is we wanted everyone to be safe, so we cancelled.
I also remember staying up til 12 am to send out a cats win email to get tickets to the next game. Was our work life balance off? Yes! But so were the athletes. There was this collective agreement with that each event to be successful, we put in our all. For marketing, it was making sure that each event was screamed to audiences as loud as we possibly could.
I wish I could be more professional about this, but as someone who has worked professional events, I have to speak out for who makes up the events. At my job it was athletes, now it’s the artists.

True Wind Warriors after this one 😮‍💨 y’all this was one of the worst events I’ve vended at, and y’all know I vend at a lot. It was so windy, I couldn’t put my setup out (fellow paper products peeps know). The vendor fee was high with low turnout (we were told to expect thousands of people). The staff didn’t even check on us, and at the end they shouted out thanking everyone BUT the vendors!! 😡

Shoutout to my fellow vendors for making this a lil trend for the day:

Terrible vendor experiences really bond us vendors 🫠

Not gonna end this on a negative note so here’s a positive one: not every event can be your best, there has to be a worst one, but you can always make new vendor friends or talk to existing ones, hand out business cards like candy and network your online shop, and still enjoy showing up for your community 💗

Thank you to the folks who did show up and still supported us on this crazy day! We appreciate you so much!! 🤗
And if you wanna support me from this low day, you can always shop online at MadeItMikayla.com (we offer local delivery and ship worldwide) 💚
