🎙️ Throwback to VR Summit 2024! One of our standout keynotes came from Prof. Pedro Lopes ( @plopesresearch ), who took us beyond the screen and straight into the body. 🧠⚡ His talk explored the idea of the „Ultimate Display“ — where VR doesn’t just show you a world, it physically moves you through it using electrical muscle stimulation for realistic haptic feedback, skill learning, and true body-device integration. 🎥 Missed it? Behind CHI 2026 stands an incredible team of volunteer chairs, the people who make the conference possible. From track and venue chairs to subcommittee and associate chairs, they coordinate everything from papers and programs to logistics and community experience. Their work ensures that CHI runs smoothly, inclusively and at the highest academic and professional standard. They collaborate with the SIGCHI Executive Committee and the ACM CHI Steering Committee, who oversee the conference series and carry the legal and financial responsibility through ACM. Without the dedication, leadership and countless volunteer hours of our chairs, a global event like CHI simply couldn’t happen. 💙 Grateful for their work, vision and service to the HCI community! 🧿🥂

Well... a new chapter is starting! I'm over the moon to be joining MIT EECS / @MIT_CSAIL as an Assistant Professor, starting Fall 2026. I'm so, so grateful to my advisor Pedro, my committee members, labmates, collaborators, friends, and family for being there through every step of the PhD. I couldn't have done this without them. My group/lab will continue my work on perceptual engineering and systems that interface with smell, taste, and beyond in HCI. 👃🍜🌬️ I'll be recruiting PhD students to start with me in Fall 2026, and potentially a postdoc too. If that sounds like something of interest (or if you know someone), please feel free to reach out to me directly by email! 📩 In the meantime... I'll be wrapping up a few projects and traveling for some neat collaborations! A hand holds a black booklet with the white MIT EECS logo, positioned in front of a blooming lilac bush. The light pink flowers and green leaves frame the booklet.
