Fashion Week isn’t a runway. It’s a construction site. 🏗️

“This is the Timbuktu I’m looking to rebuild.” — Omo Akintoye

They said Fashion Week was about the clothes. We always knew it was about what the clothes could build.

New on Medium: “But what happens when the runway becomes the beginning of the conversation instead of the end?” — Minnee Martinez

3 days. 1,500+ attendees. Fashion in conversation with entrepreneurship, technology, community, and culture under the theme “Spreading the Gold Through Opportunity and Ownership.”

Day one: Urban Canvas — 50+ Black-owned businesses, ~550 attendees at Sandlot Uptown, plus 300+ pieces of clothing collected for the Progressive Life Center non profit. Commerce with a community backbone.

DC, this one’s ours.

More moments from Gbèdu 🥰✨

Still incredibly grateful for every single person who helped make this happen. The musicians, tech, the team behind the scenes, our sponsors, family and friends, and everyone who came out and filled the room with so much love, energy and joy.

Another sold-out show, and somehow it felt even more special than the last.

Thank you for believing in this, supporting it, sharing it, and rocking with it.

More to come ❤️

Jellybeans PlugnSessions at the Rubell Museum in DC was such a grown and sexy vibe. Live R&B, headphones, a whole museum takeover, and Grey Goose saying “hey girl, the bar is open, here you go” 😂🥂 @plugnsessions | @rubellmuseumdc

When the assignment is showing up and the vibes deliver every time 🎧🕊️

We were in the building for the Plug-N experience at @rubellmuseumdc in SW — a private listening event powered by @greygoose that was nothing short of phenomenal✨ Live band, headphones, incredible art on the walls and good people all around. This one was special⚡️

Got to spend the night with my great friend and photographer @mrshuttersworth and even got to meet the incredibly talented creator behind my new favorite shades @_musathebrand @omosblack

DC keeps proving that the culture is alive and well 💚
