He said:
“I like simple girls.”

I smiled.
“Then you’ll love meeting someone else.”

Because I don’t just want a relationship.
I want an expedition.
I don’t want to spend years talking about the weather.
I want to know what made you who you are.
What lights you up.
What scares you.
What stories you’re still carrying.
What parts of yourself you’ve hidden because the world told you they were “too much.”

I don’t want to just know your favorite color.
I want to know what makes you come alive.
I want to discover someone’s everything.

Not just their body.
Their consciousness.
The way they think.
The way they see the world.
The beliefs they inherited.
The ones they’re brave enough to question.
I want us to call each other out.
To challenge each other.
To break through limitations we didn’t even know we had.
To have conversations that completely change how we see ourselves.
To inspire each other to become more ourselves, not less.
I want the kind of connection where honesty is never a threat.
Where growth isn’t something one person does while the other watches.
Where we’re both explorers.
Both students.
Both mirrors.
I don’t want comfort that slowly becomes stagnation.
I want safety that gives us the courage to keep evolving.
I want to sit on a mountain at sunset and suddenly end up talking about why we react the way we do.
Why we love the way we love.
What freedom actually means.
Who we’d be if we stopped trying to be who we thought we had to be.
I want someone who’s curious enough to ask,
“What else is possible?”
Again.
And again.
And again.
Because to me…
The most intimate thing isn’t taking off your clothes.
It’s taking off your masks.
It’s allowing someone to witness the parts you’ve never shown anyone else.
That’s the kind of undressing I’m interested in.
Consciousness.
Because that’s where the real intimacy begins.

And once we’ve spent hours exploring each other’s inner world…
Let’s go explore the outer one too.
Because I want a life partner.
An adventure buddy.
A teammate.
All in one.

Someone who sees a random dirt road and says, “Should we?”

Instead of, “We probably shouldn’t.”

Life is short.

Thank God we are not.
Obviously we are both quite tall + wearing these elvaquero boots
But I also mean something much bigger.
Because maybe this body is temporary…
but we aren’t.

Sometimes I think it’s funny how seriously we take this one little chapter.
We act as if this lifetime is the whole book.
As if we weren’t something ancient that simply decided to borrow a human body for a while.

A soul wearing boots.
Consciousness pretending to be a tourist.
Infinity squeezed into skin and bones for eighty-ish years.
One day this body will be returned.
Just like returning a rental car after the best road trip of your life.

Hopefully with way too many kilometers on it.
A few scratches.
Some muddy hiking boots in the trunk.
Sand everywhere.
And a million stories.

Because I don’t want to hand this body back looking brand new.
I want it to look used.
Loved.
Lived in.

I don’t think we’re here to protect ourselves from life.
I think we’re here to experience it.
To collect sunsets instead of stress.
To collect conversations instead of comparisons.
To collect stories instead of excuses.

It’s funny…

We spend so much time trying to make life longer.
When maybe the better question is:
How do I make it bigger?
Not by adding more years.
But by adding more life to the years I already have.
More adventures.
More curiosity.
More dancing in places where dancing wasn’t expected.
More saying yes before my mind has time to invent twelve reasons why not.

Because one day this body will stop.
But I don’t believe that’s where I stop.
We’re so much bigger than this lifetime.
This body is just today’s outfit.
A temporary address for something that has always been here.

So while I have these legs…
I’m going to dance.
While I have these lungs…
I’m going to laugh until I can’t breathe.
While I have this heart…
I’m going to love people loudly.
And while I have this body…
I’m going to use it.
Because life is short.

Thank God…

we are not.
