One year ago today.

Looking at these pics wild.

Before any of this even started, I lost my Uncle Mark. Then FLUX became basically my entire world.

We were building this thing from scratch, figuring everything out as we went, spending money we definitely didn’t expect to spend, and at one point having to basically rebuild the entire park before we even really got started.

Jimmy and I literally lived at FLUX for about a month while we were building it. Sleeping there, waking up there, working all day and doing it again.

Then five days before we opened, I lost my dog Jake.

Anyone who knew me knew how much that dog meant to me. We opened January 1 and I remember having to show up, smile and act excited when honestly I was just trying to hold myself together.

And the truth is, I’m still mourning him. I still miss him all the time. That loss has been there through all of this.

Then FLUX opened and life just went full speed.

Spring came, we threw a huge flea market with Forgotten Flea and On and On Radio, the place was packed, the news showed up, and it felt like this crazy thing we built was actually becoming something.

Then almost immediately after that, I got fired from the job I had been at for 10 years. Company car gone. Company phone gone. Everything changed basically overnight.

In a weird way though, it forced me into the thing I was already trying to build.

Since then we’ve launched e-bikes, expanded the gym and recovery side, hosted shows, camps, parties, markets and events, built new obstacles, dealt with some serious challenges around the property and somehow just kept moving.

There have been incredible days and absolutely brutal ones. A lot of this has been way harder than it probably looks from the outside.
But a year after this picture, FLUX is still here. Still changing. Still growing. Still figuring itself out.

So am I.

Pretty crazy what can happen in a year
