Magical evening onboard @raybelcharters as part of Culture Cargo and @thamesfestivaltrust. Thanks so much for inviting us - huge thanks to Annabel Taylor-Munt, Graham, Lewis and Vanessa.

We shared shipwrecked soundscapes, ghostly tales and climate emergency poems with the most delightful audience.

The event was recorded by wonderful engineer @jackmsynnott and will be broadcast on Resonance FM on Monday Sep 21.

Thanks to all those who came and supported 💜

'An Ancestral Mind Forces Whispers of Hollow Mist' is a site-specific improvised performance created by @deesada1 and @massimoparamour (electronics and bass guitar) specially for #TotallyThamesFestival @thamesfestivaltrust.

The work was performed onboard @theatreship, a unique setting where sound, water, and histories converged. Three audience members were invited to generate electronic water sounds through touch, directly shaping the piece in real-time. This interaction blurred the boundaries between performer and listener, technology and nature.

At its core, the performance is a soundscape charting the ancient River Thames across time — weaving myth, memory, and circular beginnings into an improvised journey. Electronics and bass guitar provided the shifting textures, while live audience participation added an unpredictable and fluid element — echoing the river’s own changing tides.

A meditation on continuity and transformation, 'An Ancestral Mind Forces Whispers of Hollow Mist' embodies the living history of the Thames, resonating with its past, reflecting its present, and whispering toward its futures.

The track will be played on @forthelostradio on @resonancefm later this month alongside other performances from the evening.
