First season of racing: Complete ✅

Pinned a number on for the first time this year. Zero expectations whatsoever, just a chance to prove to myself I could do it, see what it was like and whether I could be competitive.

I came away with a huge amount of experience, plenty to learn and a real hunger to improve. Most importantly though, I had a massive amount of fun doing it surrounded by a really top group of guys.

Very much looking forward to getting a full winter of training under my belt and giving this thing a proper bash in 2027. Roll on next season 🚴🏻‍♂️

This evening’s club hill climb, organised by @pnecc, took place up painful Portchester Lane. With a block headwind, me and three other club members attacked the climb to the finish line! 🚴‍♂️💨

The best time of the evening was 2:40 and the best FWCC time was 3:09.

Fun night of racing with the eclipse 🌕☀️

Nice to be back at Portsmouth and racing with some familiar faces. Thanks to @pnecc for the race and Alan Collins for letting us glance at the eclipse with his 1999 glasses🕶️

A few shots of NAUT Cycling Club & Race Team members taking on the @pnecc Mountbatten Summer Series...
.
Casey Byrne took on both the Cat 3 & E/1/2/3 races on 8th July:
.
"The Cat 3 was tactical, with just four riders on the start line, eventually coming down to a three-up sprint where I finished 2nd.
.
The bigger E/1/2/3 field made for a much faster race. I followed a few early moves before things settled, with the bunch bringing back a late breakaway in the closing laps. I crossed the line in 7th, picking up more points and rounding off a solid evening of racing."
.
On Wednesday 29th July, Devon Badman & Harrison Hendy (riding for Shibden Apex Junior Men) took on the E/1/2/3 race and Eric Williams the Cat 3/4 race.
.
In an animated E/1/2/3 race both Dev & Harrison got involved in a number of moves, both instigating & joining attacks. In the push for the line Harrison secured 2nd place & Dev 9th.

@pnecc 3 cat race last night was 🔥. Break of 3 up the road, I bridged it, for only the 3 guys to drop off and another 3 came along for the ride, all culminated in a 1-2 for @racingclubravenna with me dropping into 2nd but took the prem and most aggressive ride.
