🏏 FROM 7/45 TO A CENTURY FOR THE AGES! 💯🔥

This week's @pocketsmith Stat of the Week highlights one of the gutsiest Sheffield Shield knocks you'll see from Tasmania's Ben McDermott!

After retiring hurt on just 6 with back spasms, McDermott returned to the crease with the Tigers in all sorts of trouble at 7/45 against Victoria.

What followed was something special! 👏

💯 128 runs from 197 balls
🤝 166-run eighth-wicket partnership with Jake Doran (73)
🏏 Tasmania recovered to post 241 all out!

The partnership also broke Tasmania's 43-year-old eighth-wicket record!

A remarkable display of grit, determination and resilience from McDermott when his side needed him most!

What a way to announce yourself on the Sheffield Shield stage! 👏

South Australian all-rounder @noah.mcfadyen delivered a dream debut for the Redbacks, starring with both bat and ball in their dominant innings-and-40-run victory over Victoria! 🏏

After claiming 2/35 in the first innnings with the ball, McFadyen backed it up with a stunning century, becoming the first player to score a Sheffield Shield hundred on debut since Charlie Wakim in 2019! 💯

🚨 STARC’S MASSIVE WORKLOAD AS CARTLE GET BACK TOGETEHR🚨

Mitchell Starc has bowled 268.4 overs during this World Test Championship cycle — 11.4 more than Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood combined.

With Australia preparing for South Africa, Starc’s durability could be just as important as his ability to take wickets.

Is he still Australia’s most indispensable quick? 👀
