I was 7. Courtney was 3. I remember this day like it was yesterday. She sat on the floor in front of me and I put every bow we had in the house into her hair. The day I decided to be a hairstylist. She ran laps around the house with a tail of pearls and glittery fabric flapping behind. Laughing. Throwing her head back and drooling. Such a pivotal moment between siblings. A big moment for me. And she had no idea ❤️

I’m taking Western Chic all the way through winter! 🐎 The launch of The Reserve and the Fourth Birthday of Lani was a huge success. Thank you for everyone who made it out and to the ones who texted, called and supported us from afar. I was so happy with all the vendors. A special thank you to @tylrswngr and @eemma3105 who took the idea and ran with it. They spent countless hours refining the details and making it happen.
Now, we are getting ready for the Holiday Season!
Here’s to all of you! Thank you! 🥂

Life moves fast when your cup is full, and mine has been overflowing lately. Feeling lucky to be surrounded by quick witted, loud laughing, loving humans

“Sometimes I’ve felt like my female friendships are so rich and profound and intimate that it makes being in relationships with men harder because the standards women have set in my life… the way that they celebrate me and see me… it’s hard to find a man that can match that.” - @feministabulous

Here we go again. Link in bio for my 30 lessons in 30 years of life ✨

I know Substack is having its moment, but I am, unfortunately (or fortunately?), a creature of habit. This silly Wordpress blog, aka my chaotic, sentimental, slightly embarrassing little corner of the internet, is my baby. It’s where I started writing at 18, where I accidentally found my voice, and where, somehow by some miracle, a lot of my life began.

Twelve years after starting this, and after what feels like a whole lifetime in between, I logged back in and found 41 drafts, sitting as quiet reminders of every version of me, each one at the time it was written needing somewhere to go and a place to speak.

And now here I am again. Still writing. Still processing. Still very much the same. But with a stronger back, softer front and kinder heart.

I turned 30 about a month ago, which feels both insane and exactly right.

So I am, once again, sharing my unsolicited thoughts. 30 of my greatest lessons and learnings, one for every year of life I’ve lived to date. Lessons I learned from doing things the hard way, the long way, and occasionally the right way. Lessons that have shaped me in ways I’m really proud of. But just know that what works for me might not work for you. Regardless, I will always encourage choosing the path that feels best for you every time.

Simply put, take what you need. Leave what you don’t. 🤍

Sending my gratitude and a big, giant, elephant hug to all who are gracious enough to read it and for all pictured in this thread throughout the years for bringing out the best in me. I love you all! 🫶🏼

She is beauty and she is grace 🧚🏼‍♀️

Like seriously… she can deliver your baby and save your life. #nurselife She’s kind and funny and loves everyone the same. In her eyes, no matter who are, you are beautifully and wonderfully made. I am so grateful to call her my sister.
PS Even though she is hamming it up for the camera… she fought me the whole time. She probably figured I’d make a sappy post and embarrass her 😝 oh and btw- check out her hair 😍
