One photo can open a door. But sometimes you have to be the one to walk through it. 📸

McKellar Proffitt shares how a photo he took of Colten Mertens caught the attention of Frog Grips. Instead of stopping at letting them use the shot, he asked if they needed any photographers on the East coast.

That simple question led to even more opportunities.

A reminder to all the creators out there: your work can get you noticed, but don't be afraid to ask for what comes next.

Sometimes the things that change your life are the ones you never saw coming.

Years after losing his wife, McKellar Proffitt picked up her camera and decided to give photography a try. What started as something she loved became a passion he never expected to find for himself.

A reminder that creativity can find us in unexpected ways, and sometimes the things we leave behind continue to inspire the people we love.

last weekend @crashcrucible ❤️‍🔥

Grateful for the experience; many moments I’m proud of & many moments that just added more fuel to the fire.🙂‍↔️

Second indy comp & many more to come…🤭
(BUT, for now we rehab injury)

Full circle moment to have been supported by Josh & Hayley through it… Went up to them 2 years ago when they were competing at Crucible & I asked them (not knowing them,) if they were open/willing to coach me.🫶🏻🥹

Making sure your kid is fed, happy, and taken care of… only to realize you haven't eaten a single thing yourself. 😂

JT takes a quick break from talking all things creative to vent about the realities of parenting. Because apparently making sure everyone else eats is a full-time job.

Just a little dad life mixed into your regularly scheduled creator conversations. 🎙️

Sometimes your next opportunity is just one conversation away.

When McKellar Proffitt found out his mom's local newspaper might need someone behind the camera, he asked a simple question that opened the door to trying something new.

Not every opportunity comes from a big client, a perfect portfolio, or a carefully planned career move. Sometimes it starts with being curious, asking questions, and being willing to give something a shot.

Ever look at another creator’s shot and think, “How did they KNOW to be there?!”

McKellar Proffitt talks about those unpredictable moments that somehow get captured perfectly. Is it luck, experience, or just knowing where to put yourself when the action happens?

Sometimes being in the right place at the right time is a skill of its own.
