‼️AMERICANA UK’S EP OF THE MONTH?!? 🤯🤠‼️

Exactly TWO WEEKS until “Missed Connections” is out, and what a way to kick off the countdown!!

With some incredible artists (including ROBERT PLANT!!) in this month’s top 10 EPs, Graeme Tait at Americana UK only went and gave “Missed Connections” the TOP SPOT?! I genuinely don’t have the words. What an honour and an absolutely insane compliment 🥹🧡

A huge thanks to @radio.ouseburn for letting me rant about how I’m absolutely an Americana artist 😂 (see the last slide) and to @americana_uk_ for confirming it in the best possible way!!

Seriously, thank you for such an incredible review. I’m still pinching myself!!

🤠 Missed Connections is out November 6th!! 🤠

Hiya. Album out tomorrow, can't believe it's finally going out into the world. I love it, I think it's the best I've written, the best we've ever played. Been mad busy packaging them up, posting them and dropping them off round the doors. Anyway, I really hope you enjoy it. Speak soon. X

Sunday brought another day of new music, creative conversations and Northern talent across Mercury Fringe.

At @thegrovenewcastle, Mini Mercury x First Gigs put the next generation centre stage, with @shipyardrejects.band, Martha & The Magpies and @evieferro.music getting the chance to experience every part of a professional live show, from soundcheck to performing in front of an audience.

Over at @polestarstudios, Hector Gannet, producer and engineer @blamiremusic, and Grammy Award-winning mix engineer @eduardodelapaz_ opened up the process behind The Great Shakedown, taking a deep dive into songwriting, recording, production and what it takes to bring an album to life.

And at @zerox_newcastle, @lizziesau, @cortneydixon and @loujamz came together for a showcase celebrating the breadth of emerging talent coming out of the North East.

Three events, three different ways to get involved in the region’s music scene. Get involved at generator.org.uk/mercuryprizefringe

Studio musings at @polestarstudios…..

We’ve been busy lads and lasses, recording a bunch of choons in the studio and working on some new material while we’re at it.

If all goes to plan, we’ll be releasing one of these tracks imminently. We’re itching to get this one out during spooky season, and the reason why should become clear from the cursed preview on the last slide.

Big thanks to the legendary @ellereid2002 for the sketch while we were faffing about with slide whistles and organ noises. Go and give her art account @doodelledesignuk a follow at once…

Stay tuned xx

“For the players, it’s that understanding of, we’re going to represent our city. It feels like us against the world, so to have this song that binds us together is amazing.”

We gave @bigdanburn and @g.gibson10 a special preview of The Blaydon Races 🖤🤍
