All The President’s Men 12” LP Compilation (Old Glory Records – NGR-12 © 1994) we celebrate that cultures that we kill I was going through all of my compilation albums the other day and revisited one of my absolute favorites I haven’t listened to in a while. You would be hard pressed to find another comp from the mid 90s that had more influential bands on it than this one - and that is coming from a time period of pretty exceptional options. Out of all the bangers on this lineup I chose the Policy Of 3 song - not only because it’s my favorite, but they are from New Jersey 😎✌️ If an alien landed outside your house and demanded to listen to a selection of some of the most iconic bands of the era you would give it this. @policyof3_official #policyofthree #hoover #shotmaker #emo #rememberingemo

I love so many songs. But there is a very small subset that hit me hard EVERY SINGLE TIME I listen to them. Especially in headphones. The common thread is the authenticity and genuine emotion that it stirs up because of the story being told. @frightenedrabbit_ is one my favorite bands of the past couple decades and the tragic story of Scott’s struggles make Floating in the Forth difficult and emotional to listen to every time. Achingly beautiful. Days In December’s Main.In.Vine is similarly heartbreaking - about loss and grief. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. @policyof3_official and Julia both played an instrumental role in my musical growth in the mid 90s and their songs Nine Years Old and 3 Year Old Child both feel raw every time I listen even after 3 decades of listening on repeat I wanted to end with @the_van_pelt’s The Speeding Train as a testament to the other side of the spectrum - a song to embody all the beautiful lovely things in the world. Simple beauty. Still just as potent. Please let me know some your “goosebump” songs in the comments. #YGXDRecommends #FrightenedRabbit #DaysInDecember #PolicyOf3 #TheVanPelt https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7xT83BneiCr2ybypyCa1TI?si=5IFjP39aSfK22VArNYkbfg&utm_source=copy-link&pi=8iIi6M0MRw6Ra

A spur of the moment trip to weird ol’ New Jersey to visit @vinyladdictionrecords and pick up some gems. Also got some damn solid Kearny pizza. And some cake at a bakery. I also saw a roadside puker on I-78 and was passed my a gentleman wearing a helmet while driving a car, which isn’t a terrible idea when you really think about it…
