What an honor and freaking BLAST to play the 65th Grammy Premier Awards with @chechealara and his all-star band. Witnessing @germainefrancomusic make history and the moment @violadavis became an EGOT was incredible. Dancing with @carlosvives and his phenomenal band to the music I grew up on was literally breathtaking (mama needed a little recover time after that). Hangin’ with people I love and admire as well as running in to old friends and making new ones is simply the best. Watching everyone, and I mean folks behind the scenes, on the stage, in the wings, on the headsets, e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e bring their A game with a smile makes you walk away feeling honored and humbled. I cycled through many emotions over the 3 days, awe, love, inspiration, admiration, sorrow, elation and joy. These experiences are truly beyond teenage Gio’s wildest dreams and I’m here for it with a heart full of joy and gratitude. Congrats to all the nominees and winners🥂❤️🙏🏽

Closing out 2 weeks of unforgettable music making. @chechealara put together and directed a killer all-star band for the Grammy Premiere Ceremony, playing 89 different cues, live, with not one single bit of playback. The man is an insanely talented and humble master of his craft and his outpouring of love is genuinely felt by every single member of his team. It’s always an honor to play these incredible awards shows but there’s an extra special feeling when the ensemble is small and your sound is clearly heard. I had some beautiful moments with @ledisi ‘s gorgeous rendition of No Me Quitte Pas and our lovely string section had an entire segment of string quartet cues during the presentation of the classical awards. Seeing friends win Grammys is a pretty awesome and joy filled experience. Congrats to all the nominees and thank you to everyone working behind the scenes to make this an unforgettable weekend.

It has been the craziest week here in LA. I just finished an incredible week with @aysymphony performing at the Grand Opening of the @academymuseum 🥳 We performed a live orchestra screening of The Wizard of Oz! It was an absolute honor and I’ve never enjoyed Somewhere Over the Rainbow as much as I have this week. Now it’s back to practice! ☺️ (also? gallia isn’t wearing black? who is this girl in the video? 😂)
