I am absolutely devastated to learn that my longtime friend Cat Frazier has passed away. She is best known as the creative powerhouse @itsanimatedtext 💔

In addition to being a Shorty Award Finalist and the OG artist behind the iconic “Bigfoot Is Real and He Tried To Eat My Ass” hat, Cat was also a loyal friend and mentor of mine.
I’ve been a lifelong fan of her work, because she truly was the blueprint. Meeting her profoundly changed the trajectory of my life, and I will always be grateful to her.

I met Cat Frazier in Instagram DMs back in 2016, it was the literal Wild Wild West of meme making. I had just started going viral, and she was transitioning over from Tumblr. Meeting another female creator was incredibly rare, and for most of us, this weird niche corner of the internet was the only supportive creative outlet we had. We bonded over being losers, and relied on boost groups and shoutout rotations to help each other grow. So I added Cat to my meme group chats, and I also made her an admin on my Facebook pages to crosspost and grow her reach. Giving credit and helping each other was the glue that held our co
