If you haven't heard 'Rave Bounca' yet, what have you been doing? 👀

We found it hard to say what genre this tune is, which we think is its greatest strength: part jungle, part hardcore, part footwork, part rave and bouncy as F@*K.

One thing is for certain - it’s been killing dancefloors past, future and present.

👾 Visuals by Replica 👾

Replica is a multidisciplinary creative force in Asia’s underground music scene, seamlessly blending his roles as a DJ/producer, visual designer, and promoter to build a unique digital aesthetic. He also runs FORMAT.HQ, a label and platform spotlighting participants in the Asian underground.

👾 About 'RAVE BOUNCA' Visuals Series 👾

We reached out to 3 local visual artists with the track and the title, and asked them to make a short video for how they envisaged 'RAVE BOUNCA to look visually.'

They were all given 2 assets: one of the artwork and of POLO LILLI and then given complete freedom to do what ever they wanted. None of the artists have seen the other artists' work until we post on IG.

This is visual 3 out of 3.

I thought I would do some simple videos that I wish I had seen when I was more of a beginner with #ableton 🤔

With this one, I do think that when you invest actual money into something you are more invested in an outcome and also you support the scene and fellow artists.

I seriously went from “I have no idea” to “ok I can put a track together” when I did an in person course with @snedmusic, but I would also really recommend someone like @mrbillstunes for a proper deep dive on fundamentals if you can’t do an in person course (especially as he is an amazing #bass producer).

Then once you’re feeling less of a noob, researching if ur fave producers have #patreon and seeing if they use the same daw as you is again a way to upskill like mad and most of them do track feedback. I’ve been loving @sl8rmusic + @pololilli ‘s for learning jungle fundamentals 🔥🔥

Was this helpful? If I did more videos like this would peeps be keen? 💗

Also sorry not sorry to all the bedroom producers out dere 👻👻

Back when I first started playing out, I resisted my partner referring to me as a DJ. She asked what it would take for me to feel like “a real DJ” and my instinctive answer was being booked at Mood Ring, a room I’ve been dancing in literally since it opened

I’ve always thought I would be a perfect fit for Mood Ring’s dancefloor, but I haven’t had a chance to prove it yet. Yes, this is in fact a video of me DJing at Mood Ring…but it was just a short mini-set at a friend’s function a year and a half ago (big up @worldtourradio), not a booking. If you help me get back to this booth for a real set I promise I will turn it tf out

My résumé:
-Repeated bookings at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Happyfun Hideaway, Rebecca’s, and Rash
-Hosted ~20 successful parties on Myrtle Ave over the past year
-I am a nice + professional + reliable human
-I am a good DJ + have many mixes on MixCloud + if you ask me I will happily send you sets that I’ve played on Myrtle Ave in recent months
