If you think the internet contains everything, then think again.

Hidden in the small town of Vanzago, just nine miles from Milan, lies one of Europe’s largest shrines: @milanofashionlibrary. More than a reference archive and bookshop, it’s a living collection where every shelf tells a different chapter.

Housing more than 80,000 fashion publications from around the world, its collection spans nearly two centuries, from books, magazines and catalogues to photographic prints, rare ephemera and original archival material dating from 1850 to the present day.

Amid a divided Germany, in the late 1960s, East Berlin photographer Helga Paris captured everyday life in the GDR with rare intimacy and depth.

On view at @fotografiska.berlin until January 25, Helga Paris: für uns is the first major exhibition since her passing, offering a five-decade journey through her lens and the quiet power of her storytelling.

On the eve of #GermanUnityDay, @polverigiulio sat down with exhibition curator @marinapaulenka to dive into Paris’ legacy and the way she captured the tenderness of humanity.
