So many thanks to #michaelmararian for playing Picasso in the old-timey commercial I'm making for my video game called "Guernica!". Michael was a good sport and brought his own shirt and everything. I hope shaving your moustache off was worth it!

See the completed video as part of "I've Got Next" at Hallwalls in Buffalo, opening on September 18.

Wow, what a ride! I am immensely grateful for the experience on Next Level Baker, for the support I’ve had from my friends, family, girlfriend, and coworkers, and for the new friends I’ve made. What a gift. I can’t put into words how much fun I had on this journey, and how excited I am for what’s ahead.

I am a firm believer that we can be more than one thing, that we can reinvent ourselves at any time with enough passion and hard work. 5 years ago I had never picked up a whisk in my life. What’s an immersion blender? Temper an egg? Like, take it’s temperature?... I’ve learned a lot since then, countless hours/nights/weekends working at it. Baking has become much more than just a hobby in my life. It’s become a part of how I connect with those around me, how I create new memories, and how I express myself creatively.

I didn’t know I was waiting for an experience like Next Level Baker, but I tend to follow the mantra “Say yes, and figure it out later”. I’m so glad I said yes to this crazy, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m proud of the bakes I was able to accomplish! I’m also proud of myself for pushing myself well outside of my comfort zone.

A special thank you to @gordongram, @candacenelson, and @carlaphall for bringing me along on this experience, for the mentorship, and for many moments I won’t ever forget. A major thank you to @wayoworld and the entire wellness team for keeping us all (mostly) sane during it all. Thank you to all my fellow bakers, and now friends. And, of course, congratulations to a very deserving winner @stefanieembree!

Now, more than ever, I believe anything is possible. I’m excited to continue sharing my baking with all of you.

Happy holidays!
