#soiled
Splitting, the extreme black and white vision and the lack of a middle ground, the idealisation and devaluation of others and how something (someone) I deem beautiful or perfect can instantly become foul.
The need for some sort of purity plays a big role in my life—I can either be, clean and perfect or foul. There would be times where the words ‚,until you tear your skin off you won’t be clean enough‘’ kept resonating in my head again and again as I was curled up on the floor in my own sweat unable to do anything.

#soiled is about me trying to deal with these feelings and learning to accept the reality, which is that neither I or anybody else will be ,,clean enough’’. It consists of 3 parts, showing the changes through both visuals and music. We start with the clean desired major scale, then we switch to the eerie minor scale, and then the beat drops symbolizing the effort to break out of this black and white thinking cycle.

Rachilem, the talented person behind the music in this peace, was able to perfectly capture the vision I was going for even though I had trouble describing it. I’m extremely grateful that we were able to work on #soiled together.

Also I’m grateful to my girls Juli and Kiki for helping me with the filming.
