Dear MANIQUI family. Season 5 of our dramatic soap opera is coming to an end! And this must be celebrated in true MANIQUI style with a much over due theme night!

So this Saturday 25th, from 19:00-3am we will have our yearly season finale party before the bar goes into summer schedule (only open Thursday to Saturday).

The theme will be Neon/LEDs, with bonus points for sexiness! We will also put some UV paints and a black light for anyone to use.

See you all there! ✨

Spent my last full day in Spain in Aranjuez, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Aranjuez represents the coming together of diverse cultural influences to create a cultural landscape that had a formative influence on further developments in this field. The complex designed cultural landscape of Aranjuez, derived from a variety of sources, marks a seminal stage in the development of landscape design.

One of the main reasons we decided to go to Aranjuez was because they have free hours on Wednesday’s starting at 5pm. And even though I’m not a resident of Madrid anymore, I still have my expired TIE card, and finessed my way in for free! Honestly they just glanced at my card not really looking at the expiration date, and they just handed me the ticket!

To get there, we took the cercanías train. And wow, I forgot how well the trains are in Madrid, especially compared to wha I’ve been dealing with in Los Angeles daily. Anything less than 3 hours is a breeze for me now, and before I blinked I was already in the city.

Aranjuez was cute, it reminded me a lot of El Escorial and the Royal Madrid Palace. Mainly because it use to be one of four seasonal seats of the court. I’ve always said, nothing beats the Madrid Royal Palace, and once you seen one, you’ve seen them all.

After we got back to Madrid, I made my way for to Maniquí Bar for one last hurrah to see the place I loved so much. I spent so many days there, drinking mocktails, listening and reading poetry, creating art. It was so great to see so many familiar faces! And even though it wasn’t poetry night, I still loved catching up to so many old friends.

The First Friendsgiving!

What started as a simple small dinner with @la.singapura turned into an unforgettable night. A table filled with food, surrounded by new friends from all over the world. I have spent my adult life dreaming of hosting my own thanksgiving and it went even better than I could have imagined. No drama, no burned food- the air was filled with delicious smells and the sound of laughter.

Thanks to all the beautiful people who made this happen. Special shoutouts to @liltechnomancer @tuckhyde and @michaelfrommke for helping with prep!
