35. Happy birthday to my husband, the love of my life and the calmest person in a house with James, Anthony, Ginger, Gonzo, Yoshi, and me. That’s twin four-year-olds, three dogs. I have no idea how he does it. Watching George be a dad is my favorite thing in the world. The boys don’t know how lucky they are yet, but they will. They get his patience, his steadiness, his laugh, all of it, every single day. So do I. We fought so hard to become parents. The family we built on the other side of that is the thing I am proudest of in my entire life, and George is the reason it works. 35 looks good on you, Georgie. Here’s to the next 35. You’re the bread to my butter and the breath to my life! Happy birthday. I love you ❤️

Happy First Birthday, Ginger! Her whole litter came to our yard and we stood there acting like we were going to make a decision. She picked us. We just agreed with her. A year later she’s bigger than James and Anthony, which the boys have not fully accepted. She sleeps at our bedroom door every night running a very strict guest list. Boys only. She’s Gonzo’s girlfriend. Yoshi tolerates her, and she’s decided that counts as love too. She hates when we leave. Loses her whole mind when we get back. She understands every word we say and I’m pretty sure a few we don’t. She’ll play until she falls over, then climbs on top of you for kisses and love. The only female in this house, but acts more like the Queen. She’s the lady we didn’t know we needed. ❤️ Happy birthday, Ginger girl. You are the BEST. 😘

♥️ Families Out Loud brought San Diego together, and we are still feeling the love. Two days of honest education, real storytelling, and the kind of intimate community you can only find in person. Intended parents, surrogacy providers, IVF experts, fertility lawyers, mental health professionals, and financial advisors all shared one space with one mission: helping people build families. Families Out Loud believes every child born through ART deserves to grow up already knowing their story. 📕 Research is consistent: Kids who always knew do best. So we put the how into five small rules: start early, use the real words, make it a story of wanting, let it grow with them, and welcome every rerun of the question. In our house it begins with “before you were born, Dada and Dada needed some very special help.” But that is our experience, not a rulebook. It is up to you to tell it the way that feels natural and right for YOU. And yes, this is a post-journey topic, but the families who feel most ready are the ones who started thinking about it long before baby arrived.
