Today marks the day our eldest came into this world. In the wee hours of July 28th 2016, the veil thinned, the room filled with God + all things holy, my body doing what women have done since the beginning of time: became a sacred portal between worlds, and Apollo Silver Angel joined us earthside.

It’s hard to believe I’ve been a mom for a decade now. I’d like to think I stayed present through it all, but here I am 10 years later, and it still feels like the blink of an eye. I’m not sure where the time has gone. But isn’t that life, though. A constant, egging whisper of, “How did we get here?”

Our golden sunshine boy. Kindness, compassion, empathy, and all things silly run through his veins. 10 is a marker. We’ve made it through newborn, baby, toddler, and child stages. And a new adventure will greet us soon on the other side.

When he was born, it was hard for me to even fathom that a love like that could exist in the physical world. The tether between mom and son was so strong we often felt as one. And then we continue to watch them grow, change, and become more of themselves as they explore and their tiny world grows bigger and bigger each day, each year. and this is a good thing. This means they are doing what they are supposed to do, But it’s also hard.

The tether grows longer, but while it grows, we hope that continues to strengthen, in the sense that they stay bonded to us and carry on what we teach each other in this lifetime. And I say teach each other because while I have been the parent, he has taught me equally as much, maybe more.

I could go on and on, but I’ll end it here. Celebrating my boy. Forever grateful to have been chosen in this lifetime to be his mom. 🥹🩷🙏🏼
