Such a lovely weekend away at @portalbertwaterviewretreat

Morning walks into town for coffee from the new food truck, fishing off the pier, basketball and the playground ,all just a five-minute walk from the retreat. The kids loved jumping on their scooters and taking the walking trail into town and back again.

Back at the retreat, the kids loved picking fresh produce from the veggie garden , but their absolute favourite was waiting for the kangaroos to come right up out the front each evening, while I was very happy sitting back with a glass of wine and enjoying the view!

Beautiful views from every room, no devices, and a chance to completely switch off from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.

We had such a great weekend, we’ll definitely be back! ❤️

Paddle the Port 2026. What a thoroughly enjoyable “3rd Annual paddle”. Huge thanks to the committee and volunteers of the Port Albert Yacht Club. Super chef Wiggy, relentless work from Kate Wignall and the drive and vision of Brian Parsonage.
Thank you for Port Albert for putting on a wonderful event.

GREAT SOUTHERN RAIL TRAIL 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️🚴

It’s signage time for the Great Southern Rail Trail! We met Tracey from Councils Parks and Gardens team at @cafeaga in Yarram to plan out our day and get a delicious coffee 🤝🏻

With signage being installed in Yarram, Alberton and Port Albert we had a big day planning out locations and Tracey was such a big help! Thanks Trace 🫡

The Great Southern Rail Trail is a multi use, gentle trail covering 14 towns and 130km - if you’re looking to explore and ride, walk or horse ride this is your trail 👋🏻👏🏻 They have a great website with all the information you’ll need so make sure you check it out.

Finishing off the day with lunch at @portalbertfishandchipsco is always on the cards, with freshly caught fish and a place to sit and take in the sights it’s the perfect place to indulge 😏🤤

A lazy 30km @gippybikes ride along the Tarratrail @greatsouthernrailtrail
Not a breath of wind, warm autumn day. Lots of places to stop off along the way for a drink, snack or deep dive into history.

Don’t forget your bike when you come to stay. (We’ve got Gippy E-Bikes for hire if you do, grown ups only sorry).
Yarram and surrounds is wheelie quite good with an abundance of tracks and trails.

Last Saturday’s fun. We were stoked to be part of it. Don’t forget to bring your Paddle Board or Kayak when you come to stay. Plenty of safe water as little as 10 mins away
