Grateful to be included on the Downbeat Poll lists for trombone and baritone saxophone. Also cool to see the list of large jazz ensembles get recognition, many of whom I’ve had the pleasure of touring with like Christian McBride, JALC, Ulysses Owens, NDR, WDR, Anat Cohen, Clayton-Hamilton, and my students have joined the Vanguard, Mingus, O’Farrill bands. The scene is rich with ways to participate in the evolution of the music. These days, it’s hard to get your music heard without support and guidance so a big thank you to Marc Free and Nick O’Toole at Positone Records, Don Lucoff and Jon Solomon at DL Media, Gregg Hill, John Bishop, and my big and small band musicians that make everything come alive! 🧟‍♂️ 😂 . . . . . #trombonistsofinstagram #msujazzstudies #jazz
