The @bannedtogetherbookfest author gallery at @gocomedyimprov was amazing! Meeting Eric and listening him speak about his works — about the importance of children’s books showing representation of not just acceptance, but of belonging, was truly an honor! If you’re in the market for a children’s book, Eric should be at the top of your list!

Thank you, Eric, for taking the time to share your voice!

Donny’s love of Detroit was palpable throughout almost all of our conversations yesterday at Banned Together Book Fest! In the author gallery our tables were side by side; I heard him pitch his book over, and over, and over again. I should have been tired of listening by the fourth time, but I simply wasn’t! His love of Detroit, of writing, and of everyday magic was a joy to listen to. Thank you, Donny, for being such a wonderful neighbor!

On that note, you’ll absolutely need to let me know when book two releases—I’ll be keeping an eye out!

I had the unexpected privilege of meeting the fantabulous owner of @possum_punks — if you’ve not already visited their storefront, I highly recommend it! The shelves are flush with racial, socioeconomic, and queer representation! They support local + indie artists and are just waiting for you to walk through the door!

This was actually the second time I’ve had the opportunity to connect with Alex, but it was just as much a lovely experience as the first!

Alex — thank you SO much for all of your work supporting @bannedtogetherbookfest from behind the scenes and cultivating this incredible community! From never ending email threads, to educating youth, to attending hour long panels, and reading banned books you are truly an inspiration! I so greatly appreciate your support and dedication to equitable access to literature!

Shoutout Lizzi! A HUGE thank you to being my final, physical, ‘God is a Lesbian’ sale of the day — you sold me out!

Picked this up a few weeks ago at @possum_punks in Ferndale. A Ghost Arm Made of Angry Ghosts is a fun comic book with interesting characters, great artwork and an interesting plot. While superhero murder mysteries can feel cliched, this one has a few fun twists. It also feels deeply personal as the story ponders death, suffering, and loss. Featuring a world with oddball superpowers and deep lore, it feels lived in and imaginative. Definitely worth a read. #aghostarmmadeofangryghosts #graphicnovel #book #read

We are thrilled to announce Possum Punk: Indie Comics & Games as an attending vendor for the Banned Together Book Fest in Ferndale, MI.

We asked our attending vendors why this festival matters to them. Here is Possum Punk’s “why”:

“As a seller of primarily indie and alt titles, the matters of censorship, freedom of speech, the corporatization of literature and comics, and the ravages of AI are forefront in my life every single day. Events like this are essential to unify members of the literary community, as well as educating and engaging the general public.”

Please give a warm welcome to Possum Punk: Indie Comics & Games, and save the date to join us downtown on Saturday, October 10th. We can’t wait to see you there!
