As always, “friends” was the theme. New friends. Old friends. “Hey I know your IG” friends. Sunday is always “SJM Universe” day hosted by the beautiful @theromanticrealist -who does her own amazing Feyre. I love seeing all the bookish cosplays! And of course hubs runs with the Buffetts at the Jurassic Park shoot. @dragoncon 2026 has been an adventure - lots of full panels we had to miss, insane heat, but oh so much fun, the best hugs, photos, and memories! Until next year! ✨

Dragoncon is pretty fun, even spite of the heat, year 4 has already been full of amazing memories. Always great to see awesome people you've met before again and equally as amazing ones for the first time.

Some #HeroesCon highlights — Brothers were reunited. A collaborative piece between @stephanerouxart and I was auctioned off to a happy bidder. A few originals found their rightful owners. I knocked out a couple of really fun commissions. And I even finished some older pieces before they found a new home. All in all, a fantastic first convention as an artist. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

🎉🏳️‍⚧️Today marks my 8th year using testosterone as life-saving gender affirmation! In Feb2017, a few months before starting T, I had one of my 1st moments of gender euphoria, of Trans JOY. Nearly 8 years later, I looked in the mirror and saw myself & felt myself more than I ever had before, pictured right. That person I felt like in the left picture, that person I looked like when I saw my post-op chest for the first time, and that person who had many years of figuring out WHO I am in MY body all *collided*.

📸Enjoy the remaining pics of ⚧️TRANS JOY 🏳️‍⚧️spanning throughout my whole life—After all, I’ve been on T for only 8 of my 33.5 years of being TRANS, 8 years of more tangibly actualizing who I’ve always been & was meant to become. Because in this national and global climate that just keep getting more nightmarish, who says we self-made men, women, and nonbinary queeros can’t make ⚡️JOY, too? Joy, as gorgeous and messy as it may be…JOY is our RESISTANCE.✊🏻🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸

“Putting myself out there more than I ever have on here...Not easy, but hopefully helpful to me and to whomever needs it:
My mood was EXCITEMENT when I took this photo...therapist just told me I’m ready to tell my dad about the “real” me, it was almost the weekend, finally fixed my glasses, had meaningful friend time, and things were looking up. Then, the dysphoria set in. I felt MY smile, MY muscles, MY cheekbones, MY everything, my REAL self...but seeing the mascara still stuck on my eyes, the feminine cheekbones and upper body, the feminine this and that, and it brought me down immediately.
I’m sharing this photo because I felt ME in every way at the time I took it, including that immense EXCITEMENT that I struggle to hold on tight to that defines much of my personality at its best moments. If I remember THAT while still seeing the woman that doesn’t exist, I know I can GROW, in spite of the features that have always kept me trapped...And perhaps, because of them.”

2019 in 9//
Jan/Feb: @spektrumcares Grand Opening, TFA Prism Palentine’s Purple Rain Party, feeling one foot in one foot out of living life to the fullest.
March/April: officially Robin Patrick Strain on all legal documents, started planning for TFA Miami Summer Institute staff, and adopted a cat LiPo, feeling overwhelmed but headed in the right direction.
May: TFA Alumni Induction, wrapped up the school year, wedding planning, packed to move, all while marathoning Game of Thrones, feeling pulled in all directions.
June: wedding and marriage plans became what I now jokingly refer to as an Un-Bachelor Party, Un-Wedding Suit, Un-Wedding Cake, and emotional Un-doing of sorts to begin anew, celebrated my longtime friend @possumcuddles ‘s wedding with the best +2s @aapetr3116 and @emilieideas , accepted I would never see my cat again, and steamrolled into Summer Institute as a Corps Member Advisor (teacher mentor), feeling... everything? but knowing I was where I was meant to be.
July: finished the worst and best summer in Miami with the best coworkers, celebrated my Un-Wedding weekend with friends @peaches_planties @collettevbryan and family from far and near, and moved into a beautiful neighborhood by @lakeeola with loving friend @daigle.bagel.cream.cheese , feeling worried yet optimistic.
Aug/Sept/Oct: began the school year as a music teacher, celebrated @taytayvee94 at her bachelorette party, adopted my wacky child @loladoodleboodle whose love and long walks brought me to life, plunged into the @thelittlevolcano on a journey of self-love and empowerment never to look back, and met this badass princess @the_boywithdreams whose self love and authenticity inspire me and compliment my own journey each day, lived Orlando Pride and Halloween out loud and proud, feeling tip-top and nonstop and over the top joyous.
Nov/Dec: started writing again as passion and therapy, ate everything at Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, and Festivus, fell more in love with life and with my bf, and had the best Christmas ever with my family and new family, feeling stronger than yesterday, full of power and purpose today, and ready to feel joyful, enamored, and giddy for life in 2020.
