The multi award-winning ÚTÓIPE CHEILTEACH (CELTIC UTOPIA) opens in Irish and UK cinemas on September 4th.

Blending exhilarating live performances, intimate conversations and evocative archive footage, ÚTÓIPE CHEILTEACH (CELTIC UTOPIA) explores how music can become both an act of remembrance and a vision for the future. Against the backdrop of Ireland’s first century of partial independence, the film follows artists as they reflect on the legacy of the past while creating a new cultural landscape for the future.

Directed by Dennis Harvey and Lars Lovén it features contributions from some of Ireland’s most distinctive contemporary musicians, including The Mary Wallopers, Lankum, Poor Creature, Negro Impacto, The Deadlians, Jinx Lennon, Branwen, RÓIS, Young Spencer, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Post Punk Podge, Rising Damp and MÚLÚ, alongside many other artists.

GOODBYE LIMERICK

On 21st August I’ll be playing my final headline show in Limerick before I move to New York.

Limerick is where I wrote my first songs, played my first gigs and met so many amazing people through music, so it only felt right to put on one last night to celebrate it all.

I’ll be performing my own music alongside @adam__oleary and @post_punk_podge with @datqidexcel opening the night and @senan.mp3 taking us through to the early morning. We might even have a few special guests from Limerick City dropping in on the night

This show is also in association with Pieta, a charity that means a great deal to me. €3 from every ticket sold will be donated to support their work, so by coming along you’ll be supporting both local live music and an incredible cause.

I’d genuinely love to see as many familiar faces there as possible and give Limerick one proper send-off before I head away.
