We’ve been wondering for a while how to make the city feel ours again. Today, we tried.
The women readers of WILD CAPITAL met in Sanjay van, and we laughed, walked, explored and ✨✨loitered✨✨

For the readers who couldn’t make it, I hope to walk with you soon. 🪲

For international readers, I hope the same for and with you.

This Papdi tree exploding out of Aravalli rocks (top Left) is a personal flagstaff for me. A huge tree can grow out of rocks, and live and thrive. It knows how to make the most of life. It seems to be laughing.

The lovely Commelina, beautiful like an orchid, inconspicuous like everyday.

Women from faraway places coming together = one of my favourite things.

Sanjay van is full of lianas that climb up trees like snakes. Photo by Paroma.

The Swift butterfly catching some morning sun.

The Kanghi (comb) plant!

The Handmaiden moth, that mimics a wasp.

The Green Sandpiper, a migrant. My first Green of the season! Don’t miss his snowy belly.

@runningfeat did an impromptu read of her favourite portions from WILD CAPITAL.

WILD CAPITAL bingo had a beetle crawling over the beetle section!

The last mushrooms. Photo by Paroma.

“I felt like a child again,” @hanarchy5 said.

The lovely Kair, a spiky, tough plant of the Aravallis and Thar, with the most lovely molten red flowers.
We will return here when the tree is flowering.

Guardian.

October is about dragonflies sunning themselves and taking to the sky in curving zoomies.

The wind was in our hair.

An explosion of Ronjh flowers, a tree that loves rocky, dry places. We need to learn from this tree.
In the Central Ridge portion in the book, I write about a single tree that felt like it was all the trees in the forest.

Black drongo patrolling from his tree.

The sun breaks through a perfect morning.

Three things I learned from Spring.
Four things you will find in WILD CAPITAL.

The book’s link is in my bio.
