A clip of the main map animation for the @chrisburkard & @fielderfilms film Searching For Supercrust. Which follows Chris and 4 other friends crossing Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier - on fat bikes.

Maps were made using over 400 film photos (FILM PHOTOS!) that were taken by Chris and the other riders during the trip. @benweiland and @bobcatdavis gave the direction to use the stills and let me go for it. Swipe to see some process.

RAW CLIP @julienpcr hits 60km/h on Rue de Ménilmontant while shooting for Julien Rides Paris short by @jakebsorensen.

Thanks to @alex_valcko for the cargo bike piloting. Sitting in a Bullit cargo going 60km/h in live traffic while keeping Julien in frame was no joke.

ARLES • BRETAGNE • BERLIN • LONDON • BRIGHTON Cel animated letter exercises sitting on trains next to @morgyguett all summer long. ☺️

Bretagne and London fonts taken from a book I picked up in Arles called “Old Style Alphabet Lettering of Japan”. Brighton was just me stretching and ripping the letters to shreds with my apple pen, Berlin is a basic throwie style and Arles comes from a black letter font I modified on paper with calligraphy pens.

A short frame by frame animated bumper for the team at @strivepharmacy for their Defy The Odds campaign. Swipe for some process.

The halftone/mixed media feel of the animation came from effects in the hero film (slide 4) which were traced for the texture seen in the text as it reveals.

Recent motion work for @chrisburkard promoting his new book Out There.

I wrote the script pulling from different selections of the book while animating photography from the book and illustrations by @semi_rad for the visuals.

They ran as a series of three promos, two as reels and another as a set of carousel slides.
