Do you ever feel like a plastic bag? 🤒 Asking for a friend

Very excited to have some @andrewbentriley finally on the cover of this playlist; he's been a huge part of the inception of Medium Baby and I've been waiting till a new tune came out! 😎Also on this week's playlist is Niagara's best all-female choir group, @minusculemusic , and local Niagara legend and singer-songwriter promoter: @robrepovs

Of course, we also have @sunshinesexpress, @themoonlightcircusband and @shallows.band who will all be playing this Friday alongside @beachfox.toronto , be sure to grab your tickets via the link in the bio! ⛓

It's been amazing to get to know all these new artists coming out with new music this past year! What new artists have you discovered via this playlist? 😳 Drop 'em in the comments; I'd love to know what value y'all have gotten out of this!

Let the good times keep on rolling 🙏

Yesterday, I put up a poll asking what genre you wanted so I tried my hardest to lean more into the folk side of things, while also adding in newer artists like @robrepovs and @kidember !

As some of you might know, I built a problem to randomly select 25 artists and songs from a list of all the known Niagara artists. I'll take that and randomly generated list and comb through it to see what fits and what doesn't, and rearrange things as necessary! There's no confirmation bias; everyone has an equal opportunity to show up on the playlist and have a chance to be highlighted!

With that in mind, I feel like there are still PLENTY of Niagara artists that I'm missing and would love to share! If you think I'm missing and artist that I haven't highlighted in the playlist, drop 'em in the comments! 👇

First playlist of February!

As some of you may know, we're putting out battle of the bands in Fall of 2023 submissions and, as a result, we're also getting some new traffic for our playlist as well! One of these submissions was from @coliderofficial and @abandcalledchub , who also specifically requested "Mallory" on this week's playlist! Give it a listen 'cuz it's a fricken banger! 🤘

More new music still to come; any more artist's suggestions, feel free to drop em in the comments! 👇

Niagara music fans surely already know who @amandalynparker, @arihsk.music, and @markhoerdt are. Whether you know them from their solo projects or bands, they're all long-time staples of our local scene. Now this talented trio have formed a new band, @powerwalkband - describing their music as "new wave takes a brisk walk into the 2020s". The debut single "Summer's Over" is a fun, synth-filled track with a chorus that will be firmly stuck in your head long after you've listened. (Trust me. I woke up singing it this morning.)

We caught up with Powerwalk to chat about the single, the Niagara bands they're listening to lately, and their songwriting process.
