Thanks to everybody who came out to our Jackson/Wilson Quartet Mini-tour! It was such a treat to play Yarmouth at @landsendacc in one of their first collaborations with Hear Here, and for a very appreciative audience at @kings.theatre in Annapolis Royal. Jazz is alive and well across the province!

Beautiful week back at St. George’s in Halifax’s North End in mid-August making a beast of a record with the Scamper and a major crew. Much love to this family of musicians in Atlantic Canada (+ a few imports) making dreams come true together. Looking forward to working on this record in the coming year and sharing it once it’s done. 💚 photos by @jamiekronick

🌗ELEMENTAL RHYTHMS🌓 Elemental Rhythms is a jazz dance and music piece, inspired by the moon, tides, and local landscapes. With a piece of music written specifically for each moon phase, the piece explores growth & hope, wild full moon energy, and rest & reset. Featuring choreography by Kathleen Doherty, and music by Sam Wilson. It was an absolute delight to create this piece, and share it with our audiences this past summer. Thanks for loving and celebrating jazz with us, Halifax!! ✨ CREDITS - Choreography: Kathleen Doherty Music: Sam Wilson Dancers: Isaac Abriel, Michéle King, Stephanie Mitro Musicians: Gabriella Ciurcovich, Caito MacDonald, Sam Wilson Lighting design: Jess Lewis Videography: @kekegram Reel music: “First Quarter” by Sam Wilson Reel editing: Kathleen Doherty Venue: DANSpace @dance_nova_scotia
