Gallery partners John Dillon and Paul Pyrcik each demonstrated woodturning projects at local club meetings last week.
John (first photo) demonstrated for the Chicago Woodturners Club on how he makes a live edge bowl. In this case a piece of crabapple wood. Next, Paul is demonstrating for the Windy City Woodturners how he makes his small desk clocks. Photos of similar projects shown too. Stop by the Gallery to see what other projects we’ve been working on. Open on weekends through January 17th @bataviaboardwalkshops

Gallery partners Rich Nye @looien14 and Paul Pyrcik @pppyrcik had the opportunity to study sculpture and embellishment of woodturned items at a recent class with Jacque Vesery @jacques_vesery_art Jacque is a world renowned wood artist and woodturner who, among other things, has mastered the use of color on wooden items. He used a “dry-brush technique” to really bring depth to his works of art. His forms are also exquisite. Samples attached from the recent class. Jacque is seated, center of first photo.
