𝔗𝙾𝚁𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃𝙴𝙳 𝔖𝙾𝚄𝙻𝚂 𝟸, 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟷

🩸 whatever you’re playing for spooky season, drop it.
Tormented Souls 2 is a masterclass in how to make an effective sequel when the first game already had everything.

I played this game last year on PS5, but replaying it now on Switch 2 left me speechless. being able to experience this level of atmosphere and detail in handheld mode, without noticing any major graphical differences and with impeccable performance, is absolutely amazing.

trying to save her younger sister Anna, we follow Caroline Walker once again on her search for a cure at Villa Hess. hoping to find a way to stop her sister’s disturbing visions, their stay at the mansion quickly takes a wrong turn (yeah, the movie. what are you watching this Halloween season? ops, wrong topic- can’t focus.)

gameplay takes everything that worked in the first game and not only polishes it, somehow making it even harder. the puzzles made me question my ability to think more than once. but progress feels earned, and the game isn’t interested in holding your hand (it rather uses it to slap you repeatedly).
combat never makes you feel empowered, even with a more “basic” monster it takes so little for things to go wrong.
same with the fixed camera angles, way more than just a nostalgic touch: they make you feel constantly watched from every dark corner, and the way they frame certain rooms makes exploring them even more uncomfortable.

my favorite part is probably the overall design. from the dark, dirty and discomforting (yet fascinating) environments to the enemy designs, with their gritty, fleshy and disgusting appearances, everything contributes to create a suffocating world.
this game lives rent free in my head every time I see yellowish light colouring my surroundings.

environmental noises, distant sounds & noises while you’re exploring are the cherry on top.
the number of times this game gave me chills is impossible to count.

thank you so much to @pqubegames for sending me the code for this game. I’m having a blast.

Was mich an Indie Games besonders begeistert?

Tormented Souls is a perfect love letter to classic Resident Evil because it captures the same survival-horror formula: fixed camera angles, limited resources, creepy environments, challenging puzzles, backtracking, and a constant feeling of vulnerability. It doesn’t just imitate Resident Evil—it recreates the atmosphere and gameplay style that made the original games so memorable, while adding its own story and mechanics. #residentevil #silenthill #horror #gaming #numetal

Quirky game shoutout

Sniper dan developed by denki Ltd and published by @pqubegames this game is a fun spin on the classic hidden object game.

Your dan and with your sniper you help the town folks with various problems. You earn coins to upgrade your office and sniper to make your job easier but hit any person or animal your hit with a coin penalty. So be careful.

It's pretty fun and quirky give it a look.

Sniper Dan (by Denki) is the funniest game idea I've seen for a while. The helpful, pacifist problem-solving sniper.
