QUEER IMPRESSIONS: ON POLITICS hits the streets of Chicago.

This year’s exchange asked artists to consider the relationship between queerness and politics through printmaking.

Their prints have now left the confines of the portfolio and entered public space through a wheat-pasting installation in Chicago.

By bringing these prints to the street, we hope to expand conversations around queer visibility, collective action, resistance, joy, and what it means to imagine queer futures together.

The installation acts as a reminder that queer art is political, queer visibility matters, and community remains one of our greatest forms of resistance. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Thank you to everyone who participated.

Queer Impressions: On Politics invited queer printmakers and print-based artists to create politically motivated, queer inspired prints that examine and explore the ties between queerness and politics: past, present and future. All of the prints have been collated and mailed out!! We are super excited to share these prints with you soon!

Images and documentation of the Heartbreak show that occurred on Monday, February 23rd

It was my first time putting together a show like this and Im so grateful for the artists who lent me their work, but also helped me clean, hang the work (shoutout @earlyeveningnap ), cook food, make signs, perform music and hang out. It is always a group effort and I appreciate everyone who is down to help me bring an idea to fruition.

I am pretty allergic to taking (good) pictures but thank you @hopedoodles__ for coming with a camera to supplement my iPhone

First two images are from post card that was available at show designed by @the.i.ball
2nd image is from a still from a video piece I made with @lcfahey.classic @supermaxsilva

MORE SHOWS TO COME. Love love love
