TODAY's the DAY! Come to the Floyd Theater in the Student Activities Center at the University of Louisville. Currently screening- ASCO: Without Permission at 5:30pm. Film subtitled in English and free to all! TOMORROW come see Perez Rodriguez at 12pm in the Ekstrom Library Room W104 at the University of Louisville. Film subtitled in English and free to all! Synopsis of each film: ASCO: Without Permission is a genre-defying documentary about the groundbreaking Chicano art collective ASCO, whose members transformed the cultural landscape of Los Angeles during the 1970s and 1980s. Blending activism, performance, photography, film, and visual art, ASCO challenged exclusion within museums, Hollywood, and mainstream media. Through an innovative mix of documentary and fiction, the film reexamines the group’s enduring influence on contemporary art and culture. Pérez Rodríguez is a sharp and humorous Dominican comedy that follows a modest government employee whose carefully ordered life begins to unravel through a series of unexpected events. Combining satire with social observation, the film examines bureaucracy, class aspirations, family dynamics, and the contradictions of contemporary Dominican society. We look forward to seeing you there! #ClassicalAndModernLanguages #LatinAmerica #FilmFestival #UniversityOfLouisville #GoCards
