@majidabidi’s AUTO | AUTO (video work + ceramic tiles) is part of Interruptions, a group exhibition at Conflictorium, Ahmedabad. @conflictorium “The work began with something as ordinary as an autorickshaw, & the identities it carries. Names, symbols, gods, languages, communities, inherited markers. What we are given before we are old enough to choose. And then there is MAA. AMMA. AAI…” AUTO | AUTO looks at the politics of inherited identity through the intimacy of motherhood, asking what remains when the identities we are taught to carry are stripped away. The work features sound snippets from Anand Patwardhan’s ‘Father, Son & Holy War.’ Part of Interruptions 26 September – 24 December 2026 Conflictorium, Ahmedabad. Grateful to be showing alongside a wonderful group of artists and thinkers. INTERRUPTIONS opened on the 26th of September. It was a delight to see so many people show up. We are immensely grateful for all the people without whose effort it wouldn't have been possible. We opened with a conversation with @parizad_d, followed by a film screening and discussion with the director of To Die A Frenchman, @kumartalkies_films the next day. The exhibition is open for the coming three months. #notsorrytointerrupt #exhibition #ahmedabad #dialogue #conflictorium

{ The School Project } Our Dhan Mill studio has always been an ever-changing space for us, taking on a different form with every project, collection and idea that comes through it. For { The School Project }, we wanted to bring the world of Mayo into the studio and build a space around the collection that felt like an extension of the research behind it. The garments came together with the archive and material library, while the wider world of the collection took shape through the book, film, photography, art and Repair Station. Each became its own way of looking at the same story. On 20th September, we celebrated the launch with Soho House Cities Without Houses through Atelier After Hours { a series that immerses its community inside the worlds of creative practitioners, through the spaces and processes behind their work. Soho House members and friends of rkivecity came together at Dhan Mill, with the evening continuing over pizza, Picantes and vinyl} It was special to see the collection return to the studio where it was made, and to have so many people who have been part of rkivecity along the way there to experience it with us. { The School Project } is now at our Delhi flagship, with the collection also available at Outpost No. 1 Mumbai, Galeries Lafayette Mumbai, Selfridges London and a selection online at rkive.city. The School Project, through the people who helped build its world: Film: @_neelsoni @vikramvalluri Art & Book: @ridburman @prarthnasingh @vikramvalluri @aaryansinha @tuhin_chandra @_jaglan_04 Sound: @darktersaab @harbourdubs Food: @da.susy.pizzeria Spirits: @monikalcobev @1800tequila Installation: @tota.design Community Partner: @sohohouse @sitawadhwani DJ: @djloopkin Presented with Soho House Cities Without Houses. Thank you to everyone who spent the evening with us.

T63 Second floor MoMA PS1 24th-27th September Title: Static Range Author: Himali Singh Soin Publisher: Subcontinentment Books Edition: First Edition of 700, 2022 Hardback - Cloth. Sewn Bound, Offset Printed, Screen Print The book, Static Range, takes its inspiration from stamp booklets and flip books: it forms an analogue version of the eponymous animation in which the mountain, Nanda Devi, morphs in the nuclear sublime, radiant and blemished. Made with organic cellulose paper and entirely lickable, each page contains four perforated stamps. Necessarily, the only way to consume this book is to destroy it. T63 Second floor MoMA PS1 24th-27th September Title: Paper Txt Messages from Kashmir Author: Alana Hunt Publisher: Self-published Binding: Softcover with cloth spine In the winter of December 2009 close to a thousand “paper txt msgs” were distributed throughout the Kashmir valley. It was a tongue in-cheek response to the government’s ban on pre-paid mobile phone services in the region, when virtually overnight hundreds of thousands of mobile phone users – people conducting business, college students, families, distanced lovers were left without means of telecommunication. pre-paid subscribers were invited to write a “paper-txt-msg”, to anyone real or imagined, about anything they would like to write in a txt msg but were suddenly unable to do so. The publication also contains a collection of writing from Kashmir by Suvaid Yaseen, Majid Maqbool, Zooni Tickoo, Iram Razzaq, Rahim Seab, Gowhar Fazili, Uzma Falak and Tanveer Ahmed. Mayo’s uniform has officially been granted an outpass. Nine months after @rkivecity brought The School Project back to the halls that produced it, the collection is stepping beyond its alma mater. Saafas, bandhgala, pachranga tents, house colours, sports blazers, even pages from the House Rule Book all find their way into FW26. Apparently extracurricular means very little when the regulations follow you to Selfridges. Call it proper school baggage. The prospectus probably left out the good bits. Dust from the grounds, sweat after a long afternoon, paint where paint had no business being. The crest came with the uniform, the rest came with living in it. A sports blazer shows up splattered, another speaks fluent sweatshirt, corduroy gets called up to the first team. The sort of marks you once hoped nobody noticed are suddenly the details worth looking for. @ritwikkhannaa remembers Mayo being particular enough that even a small stain could send you straight back to change. Rkive has since built a practice around doing almost the opposite, keeping the patina, old thread, zips and buttons that tell you somebody got there first. Old ties lose the Windsor knot and start lacing repaired Converse. A school tie and antique coin get pinned together as a brooch, while coins and rings dug out of the stores clock back in as buttons and badges. Even cupboard keys earn a place on the look. Quite the promotion for everything usually sentenced to the lost and found. The Pachranga blazer once marked Mayo’s best sportsmen. Its colours were already dressing a College Eleven in 1890. A century later, @aaryansinha, @ridburman, @prarthnasingh, @_neelsoni, @vikramvalluri and @tuhin_chandra document all of this so beautifully with one foot in the yearbook and the other firmly out of line. This is one school project worth inspecting in person. The stains, repairs, old hardware and little bits of Mayo hiding in plain sight make a fairly convincing case for getting closer than your screen allows. Its installation is now open at the New Delhi flagship, with FW26 finding new addresses across Mumbai, London and online. Consider this your permission slip to go have a look.

Prarthna Singh’s incredible series Champion, 2015-ongoing captures female wrestlers in India. In a predominantly male dominated sport, the series explores notions of violence with this particular selection being of women who accused the then head of the Indian wrestling federation of assault. This sparked many protests throughout the country (where the last photo has been taken) in support and solidarity of the women and the ongoing violence against women. Showing at the wonderful @mapbangalore #prarthnasingh
