Thank you to everyone who joined us Sunday night for the Nepal Flood Relief Concert on Zoom, and a big thank you everyone who donated to All Hand & Hearts in support of the flood relief efforts in Nepal. For anyone who would like to watch the concert again, it's on YouTube — link is available in my BIO.

We not only raised over 17,000 euros (including donations that were made during the week following the concert) from more around 360 of us, but also came together in prayer for those affected by the floods, and beyond. The power of heart is immense, especially when we come together to help each other.

On our side here in Portugal, it was a real privilege and joy for us to have been involved this "heart-sharing" in the form of a music concert. It was so lovely to see everyone's faces on the big TV screen that was sitting just in front of us, under the camera. Thank you all♥️

Dear Friends,

Almost twenty years ago, I was in Nepal and still remember the beautiful, lighthearted and loving spirit of the people there, as well as the amazing nature and long trek to Mount Everest base camp. It wasn’t long after hearing the news of the recent landslide and floods I felt inspired to do an online fundraising concert, as a way to give love and support for those who were affected. Some friends have stepped in along the way to help with the technical preparations, as well as some wonderful musicians who will be joining me in this concert.

All Hands & Hearts has worked alongside communities in Nepal since 2015. They are currently on the ground in Nuwakot providing emergency supplies, and helping affected communities in various ways. 100% of the donations made via Concert Donate Page (see link in BIO) go directly to All Hands & Hearts. The concert Zoom broadcast link will also be posted on the donate page soon (on or before the 13th). This concert is open and free to join.

This whole world is our family. We can serve each other through our prayers, through donations, and through whichever ways that God puts in each one of our hearts to help.

"O Senhor" (The Lord) is a song written by Prashanti in collaboration with her beloved partner, Alfred, shortly before he transitioned in January 2025. It carries the shared love for Christ that brought them closer in spirit, and a heartfelt yearning for the presence of the Lord.

The song remained unfinished until it was shared in Monte Sahaja. With the loving support and contribution of Prem and Shivali, who deeply resonated with its spirit, its devotion, and the beauty of the Portuguese language, it truly came to life. What began as a personal offering became a song of the sangha, infused with the light and grace of Guruji’s pointings and the presence that lives beyond form.

Mantras🙏🏼📿
Para mi significan un llamado ancestral de nuestra alma y funcionan de forma que penetran en nuestro subconsciente.

Puedes empezar a recitarlo durante tu meditación con un collar de mala de 108 cuentas, y poco a poco irá formando parte de tu vida y te encontrarás recitándolo en momentos que más lo necesites.

A mi me ha llamado Ganesha pero pueden haber otros mantras que te estén llamando más específicamente a ti. No importa, lo importante es la devoción y estar abierto.

Ganesha representa entre otros, el removedor de obstáculos.

Eternamente agradecida a @prashantipaz por introducirme a la práctica de mantras y el impacto que ha tenido en mi ser.

I first came across the concept of “Spiritual Materialism” in Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s book Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism. Although Trungpa had his serious flaws, he possessed wisdom that has endured.

It’s SO easy to go astray on a spiritual journey because it is also a human journey and human nature can be, well, “fun.”

Someone becoming Spiritual or even labeling oneself as “Spiritual” is often the first misstep down the road of Spiritual Materialism.

I’ve been there. You’ve been there. We’ll be there again—which is why it’s important to check ourselves as much as possible. (Or better yet, have people around who can check us.)

Here’s a simple example of SM. When I started meditating, I would see people in full lotus and think, woah, that’s cool! That’s what an ultra-spiritual person looks like. I thought, When I can do that, it will mean something. I’ll be “more spiritual.”

Anytime we become attached to something that puffs up our ego and sense of self-importance, we enter Spiritual Materialism.

Spirituality is not about how many meditation retreats you go on, how many downloads you get from Ayahuascha, or who your guru is.

The spiritual journey is about letting go of identities rather than building them up—or, as Ram Dass says, it’s about Becoming Nobody.

(Please know this is coming from someone who is reallyyyy trying to be somebody.)

Amidst all my striving, I continue to be grateful for the humbling blows life deals me.

As Father Thomas Keating states, “The spiritual journey is one humiliation after the other.”

I was so excited to discuss spiritual materialism with dear Prashanti Paz on The Art & Business of Meditation podcast.

If you don’t know @prashantipaz , she is an Argentinian-born devotional singer popular on Insight Timer and beyond.

After meeting Prashanti, the word “Real One” comes to mind. It was a blessing to cross paths and share a heartfelt conversation.

If you are a human being on a spiritual journey, it is a must listen.
