Muhurtham but let’s make it contemporary traditional ✨

The hamsa blouse 🦢✨

Blouse: @prathi.creations
Designer: @jeeeeevitha and sahana (from prathi creations)
Embroidery: knot work with zardosi

Makeup: @makeupstudiobyaanuraaja ✨

This is how we created the viral Hamsa blouse. I had this gorgeous handloom checks saree with a Pochampally blouse, but I wanted a plain-colour blouse so the saree would stand out. So I came to our family boutique store, Prathi Creations, in Jayanagar.
The designer suggested a hand-dyed velvet blouse for the shine, instead of any other fabric. I hear that For the design, I wanted to recreate Janhvi Kapoor’s blouse, but with my own elements. So I extended the sleeves and added checks as an appliqué. I chose a mix of knot and thread embroidery with a little zardosi.
I gave my measurements and came back for the trials, and it fit me like a glove. I was really happy with the outcome, and this is how I styled it on the main day.

If you’ve been saving celebrity saree looks lately, you might have noticed one little detail quietly making a comeback —> CAP SLEEVES.

From barely-there cap sleeves to slightly structured, statement sleeves, I have a feeling this silhouette is going to be everywhere this festive and wedding season.

And honestly, what I love most about cap-sleeve blouses is that they don’t have to look basic or minimal.

You can make a simple cap sleeve blouse feel incredibly festive with the smallest details pretty lace, delicate latkans, embroidered borders, pearls, embellishments or even a beautiful fabric used just for the sleeve.

One of my favourite ways to do it? Use the border of your saree on the sleeve. It creates that beautiful coordinated look without making the blouse feel overly embellished.

You can also experiment with:
Lace cap sleeves
Embroidered sleeve borders
Pearl or sequin detailing
Delicate latkans
Organza or sheer sleeves
Saree-border sleeves
Slightly structured cap sleeves

It’s such a small design detail, but it can completely transform a simple blouse and make the entire saree look feel more feminine, Pinteresty, elegant and festive.

And if you’re getting your festive blouses, wedding blouses or custom saree blouses stitched this year, consider this your sign to experiment with cap sleeves. 💗

Whether you’re looking for a Diwali saree blouse, Durga Puja blouse, wedding blouse design, festive blouse design, silk saree blouse, Banarasi saree blouse, organza saree blouse or a blouse for your next wedding guest look, this is one silhouette you can easily customise to your personal style.

Save this for your next blouse appointment and send it to your tailor if you’re looking for cap sleeve blouse inspiration. 🫶🏻
