POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Rome-based design studio @praticdesign creates visual stories and elaborate scenarios out of paper.

“Unity is part of the Paper Artist Collective project sponsored by Senses Paper. The brief was to create an English alphabet A-Z out of Senses paper. The letter, as well as the colours, were allocated to each artist randomly and was revealed as a surprise.

When the letter U arrived, the first word which came to mind was unity. The concept and the unique shape of the letter dictated the storyboard of the piece. Nonetheless, travels and magical places were the inspiration behind the idea of creating two towering houses united by a secret, subterranean bridge, uniting the two seemingly separate structures.”

Next up in our #PACPaperPassion series with @arctic_paper , we have the fabulous Lamis @praticdesign and her answer to Paper Passions.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
"When I thought of what I would create for the brief, I had no idea where to begin, so I thought to start from a place of love. Something that brings harmony, joy and presence to my state of being. Music! In particular, the sound of the violin, played with passion and powerful emotions, elation or desperation.⠀
⠀
Shortly after I started sketching my violin another topic started worming its way into my mind and therefore into my sketch book as well. Immigration! A generic topic, yet extremely personal to me and many people like me. Contrary to popular opinion it's not a current topic at all, it's as old as the existence of mankind and many other species; the instinct to survive and the need to search for a better destination.⠀
⠀
In my piece, I do not attempt to talk about immigration in the way we know it as, but rather a simple curious search for sound. I hope to tell the story of a city in search of its melody and harmony, not necessarily by moving into a new space, but rather by looking for it's unique beautiful sound from within." ❤️⠀⠀

This beautiful "U" is created by our talented member Lamis - @praticdesign. 😍About it, Lamis tells us: "When the letter U was revealed to me, the first word which came to mind was unity. I allowed this concept and the unique shape of the letter to dictate the storyboard for my piece. Inspired by my travels and some of the magical places I have visited, I had the idea of creating two towering houses united by a secret, subterranean bridge, uniting the two seemingly separate structures."⠀

⠀
The amazing paper is sponsored by @senses_paper ❤️Stay tuned for the next letter revealed tomorrow morning! And be sure to check out @praticdesign for more photos of this magnificent contribution for our #PACAlphabet.⠀
