@mirela.moscu's practice is grounded in an ongoing dialogue between drawing and painting, where each work retains the openness of its own making.

Rather than privileging the finished image, her work foregrounds artistic practice itself, as a space of inquiry, transformation and continuous becoming.

At the core of "Where My Name Begins" lies a reconsideration of drawing, not as a preliminary stage, but as an autonomous artistic practice.

Sketchbooks, studies and works on paper reveal a mode of thinking in which the process itself becomes visible. What often remains hidden in the studio is presented here as an essential part of the work, inviting viewers to engage with artistic practice in its unfolding.

"Where My Name Begins" explores the space where drawing precedes the finished image and thought first takes shape through gesture.

Working between drawing and painting, @mirela.moscu presents a practice in which each work retains the openness of its own making. Rather than describing, the line investigates; colour emerges as possibility, while form remains in continuous transformation.

Curated by @irenadomnita, the exhibition is part of Praxis! Emergent Curators' Days, a programme initiated by @uadcluj.

In "Utopian Body – Toward a Silent Presence", @claudiuciobanu_ explores the body as both presence and a space for reflection. Transparency, light, and the fragility of the image become essential elements of a visual language that investigates identity beyond appearance.

Rather than offering answers, the works open a space for attentive looking, where perception becomes a way of understanding ourselves and the world around us.

In a context shaped by image and representation, "Utopian Body – Toward a Silent Presence" proposes a shift in perspective. The body becomes a site of perception and memory, a space where identity is no longer asserted through discourse but discovered through lived experience.

Through works that invite contemplation rather than certainty, the exhibition reflects on presence, vulnerability, and the silent ways in which identity takes form.

„We rarely want to go back in time. To relive certain experiences, to see loved ones again, to change certain decisions, or to take a closer look at the places that once surrounded us. Behind this desire, in fact, lies the need to return to a familiar space, to a place where we felt safe and full of hope. A place of balance, an ideal place. In reality, however, going back is not possible. We can only take refuge in memories or in an imaginary space.
Nostalgia thus becomes the leitmotif of the works created by the artist Lavinia Maria Oniciuc. Coming from the Greek nostos (return) and algos (longing, pain), the term essentially describes a response to the awareness of impermanence, to the fear of change, to the fear of the ephemeral. The atmosphere of her works does not evoke a specific place, but rather conjures up the very nostalgic feeling itself The paintings bring to the forefront the ideal space to which we long to return or which we wish to find again.
The balance construced in the artist's compositions is outlined by the dominant presence of the color green, a color that is born from the tension between two chromatic extremes: yellow and blue. This symbolizes, in fact, reality and the ideal, two opposing states that the artist explores.
The limited chromatic palette contributes to the emotional intensity of the works. The dark tones create a depressing, sad, and introspective atmosphere, while the subtle transitions to brighter areas or vibrant chromatic accents suggest the desire for transformation, change, anchoring in reality, and fear of the unknown. The chromatic oscillation is not just a formal choice but reflects the process of a search.“ (excerpt from the curatorial text)
