A year ago today we wrapped the first round of rehearsals for the theatre show, "Music Portrait of a Humble Disabled Samoan" at Te Auaha. A hugely talented cast and crew coming together to tell Pati Umaga's story. Written by Oscar Kightley and directed by Nathaniel Lees. What followed was an awesome run of shows at the Auckland Arts Festival and Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts, winning the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion award at the NZ Event Awards, and a documentary by Mark Papali'i at the NZ International Film Festival called "My Humble Friend, Fonotī Pati Umaga". It was truly an honour to be part of this show 💖

It was really special to be at the Wellington premiere today of "My Humble Friend, Fonotī Pati Umaga". Director, Mark Papali'i did an amazing job capturing Pati's life story in music and as a youth and disability advocate. Malo, Pati! 💖
