A LEATHER JACKET DESIGNED, SOURCED + CONSTRUCTED by Samuel M. Perry

The collar of this jacket was made using a Navajo churro sheep hide from my nephew that he treated and stretched himself. It was such an honor to have been blessed this sheep to work with. —this is probably the most important piece I have worked on so far, easily my favorite piece of 2025 ** working with the two different animal hides was a new experience for me and it left me with a new appreciation for the life of the animal.

through creating this piece I had to apply a whole new level of caution and carefulness, trying to preserve the warming qualities of this hide while also doing the animal justice and making it look good. (I ended up designing 4 samples for the collar shape before cutting the hide).

Thank you to my family for trusting me with this hide, Amber, Blayne and Jaqson <3. I’m so greatful I had the opportunity to make this jacket.

-vintage 100% wool Pendleton blankets
-Treated Italian leather from Milan
-Navajo Churro sheep
