Something special must have been in the water in 2006.
That year, @coachjennygarrett OBE began her coaching business. A joy today to celebrate 20 years of her and her team’s tremendous impact, at the House of Lords.

That same year, @folukeakinlosembe launched the @precious_awards.
This evening, we launched the 20th annual Awards at the British Library with the fitting theme of Legacy.

Also in 2006, I started Color Blind Cards.
Three different journeys. One truth, regardless of the founder title, none of us achieves anything alone.
Special day overflowing with connection, community and a reminder of what becomes possible when we are seen and see ourselves. ♥️

Everyone at PRECIOUS is very sad to hear of the death of Kanya King CBE, founder of the MOBO Awards.

Kanya was a pioneer, a fearless champion of culture, and a visionary entrepreneur.

Her creation of the MOBO Awards was such an ambitious milestone for music. Kanya showed us all what is possible when you lead with courage, conviction, and an unbreakable spirit. She was a true inspiration.

We send our love to her family, friends and the entire MOBO family.

Rest in Power, Kanya, may your legacy shine forever 🖤

For international women’s month I was invited by @Preciousawards founder @folukeakinlosembe to attend a small group of 20 past award winners, to recognise two decades of celebrating excellence, leadership, and impact.

Hosted by Apple HQ the event celebrated us and founder @folukeakinlosembe

It was great catching up with so many familiar faces that have been brought together by this wonderful community of women of colour.

Although I won my award 16 years ago I remember the moment clearly walking being seated with the wonderful @vanessasanyauke and @_careeta_

The shock of winning and then the wonderful community afterwards I will forever be grateful.

On 12 November 2022, I was honored to accept @precious_awards Creative Business of the Year (sponsored by @brandbymehq ). This wasn’t just one of our company’s first major accolades; it was a defining moment for me as a female co-founder.

I can still hear @brendaemmanus announcing @weareparable as the winner. Walking to that stage, I felt a surge of pride, joy, and most importantly self-belief. Looking back, that win was the exact confidence boost I needed to co-lead this company to where it stands today.

As the PRECIOUS Awards celebrates its 20th year, it was wonderful to reunite with fellow winners, nominees, and supporters.

Did you know it’s Canada’s Black History Month!?🥳🇨🇦 And I was recently invited to the Canadian Embassy to celebrate🖤

The event was held in partnership with @showracismtheredcard, with loads of inspiring people in the room🙏🏾 As a new Arsenal fan (😅) it was lovely seeing former player Paul Davis there too.

Two awards. One night. One mission.

Last month, I was at the stunning Natural History Museum, nominated for Champion of Construction at the @ccscheme Grand Awards. I didn’t win, but I left proud.

Proud to be recognised for creating real culture change through hosting the Trades Industry Leaders Luncheons. Proud to be in that room with people who care deeply about where this industry is heading.

And while I was there…
I was also named Coach of the Year at the Precious Awards! 😮🏆

I couldn’t be in two places at once, but I’m grateful beyond words.

Thank you to the PRECIOUS founder, Foluke, who accepted the award for me and to Jessica Huie for keeping it safe until I could collect.

Two very different rooms.
One shared purpose: making the industry better from the inside out.💛
