Life is… to wake up to the birds chirping in the rice paddies in front of your terrace.

Life is… to explore the island with no agenda.

Life is… to enjoy the food, even if you were a bit too brave asking for 7 Thai chillies.

Life is… to dig your feet in the black volcano sand.

Life is… to get ready to jump into something new (freediving, in my case).

Life is… to be rewarded with an ice cold beer after the first successful freediving attempts.

Life is… to wait for hours for the bat to wake up and miss the actual moment.

Life is… to ride around the streets, absorbing the atmosphere around.

Life is.. to go look for chicks (chickidiiiiez) that jumped into the rice paddies and disappeared.

Life is… to watch the nature doing its things.

Life is… to buy 1kg of lechon, because you are convinced that less is not enough (it was enough).

Life is… to be amazed how many palm trees there are and how beautiful the view is (have we never seen trees before, @precious_kimchi ? 🤪)

Life is… to catch the last rays of the sun.

Life is… to say goodbye to one more beautiful day.

Life is… to explore this life together 🫶🏼

A week of adventures on a bike all over Siquijor. It was:
* untouched nature diversity everywhere you look: ocean, reefs, rivers, waterfalls, jungle, rice fields and forests
* giant geckos (oh ooooh)
* fireflies’ favourite tree
* @precious_kimchi ‘s love for pork sisig
* coconut apple found by the waterfall
* sea snake and lizard fish
* dancing with the locals
* soaking in the rain and cooking in the sun — all within an hour
* chickens! goaaaats!

Moments of my 33rd bday 🎂

And lesson I learnt in my 32:
Antidepressants can’t actually make you happy. They fix what’s broken in your brain so that you have the physical ability to feel happy.
But if you’re still making decisions that are not aligned with what you want and who you are; if you avoid looking at the sores and cracks, hoping they don’t matter, you will still be stuck. Stuck in the life you don’t want to live. Life that suffocates you, while you are losing your real self. Stale.

Wanted to write a story of an emotional grinder I was in in the last few months. And how and why I made the decisions I made.
But then erased it all because it doesn’t really matter.

The point that matters is now. And my now is happy. Still carrying lots of grief and sadness, but happy.

Wonders happen if you listen to your heart and dare to do what you think is right.
You might end up somewhere where a year ago you’d never even think you’d be.
