This weekend is one I think I’ll remember forever.

Arriving at K&M on Friday for the Precision Rifle Series - Rimfire finale, truthfully, I had no idea what the experience of shooting in Squad 1 was going to be like. To be frank, I was nervous. I had never met 13 of the other 14 shooters I was squadded with, all of whom are among the best rimfire shooters in North America.

When the match started on Saturday morning, we quickly fell into a groove, and my nervousness proved unfounded. Everyone was there to win, but everyone was equally helpful and genuinely enjoyable to be around. That held true all weekend.

If you look at my scores since the Central Regional Finale, I’ve had a few rough goes. I told @the_vintage_vagabond that I felt like life was giving me reminders of lessons that would prove critical at Nationals... and I was right.

I started both mornings absolutely bombing stages, which quickly set me back significantly. I almost gave up on myself both times, but forced myself to stay in it because it’s not over until it’s over... which is ironically one of those lessons I mentioned earlier. I always seem to shoot better when I’m chasing, and that’s exactly what I did all weekend.

Ending day two with two back-to-back cleans on two of the hardest stages on the hill secured me 3rd place at the match and 2nd overall in Open for the 2026 series.

To everyone who supports Shoot More and came up to talk at the match, thank you. It means the world to me to have the support of so much of this community.

My wife asked me how I felt when I was driving home last night, and I had to stop and think for a second. Validated... I think that’s probably the best word for it. Not to others, but to myself. I knew I could place at the national level, and this weekend I proved it to myself.

Huge congrats to @erich.leipold on bringing home the gold
